"No Limit" by 2 Unlimited is always a song that makes me want to dance.  "Around the World" by Daft Punk, "If Everybody Looked the Same" by Groove Armada, "Take Me Away" by D:Ream, "Rhythm is A Dancer" by Snap!, "Dreams (Will Come Alive)" by 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor.  Sometimes when I sit at my computer, I feel like getting up and dancing to these songs, but I don't think the people that live below me would appreciate the noise ;D

It'd have to be a BLARDY good song to propel me to the dancefloor. Either that or very good booze.  ;D

Erasure was always a cert

well...I've never been the type to dance....but certain music makes me wanna, and I have been known to secretly cut a rug in my house (alone) ;)

I like the Pet Shop Boys, their music always has a good rhythm to it....yes, bizarre love triangle (New Order), I agree, is also another good one.  There are some good techno versions of popular songs on the "Queer as Folk" soundtracks....very upbeat.

"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper
The Go-Gos
"I'm Lookin' For a New Love" by Jody Watley

I'm too awkward to be propelled to any type of dancefloor.

I look like a constipated robot (I know that's not technically possible lol) when dancing...but that doesn't stop me (providing I have to requisite 'aids').

I actually find Rock 'n' Roll more danceable than alot of the today's dance music...Like early Beatles stuff...

A LOT of songs but the ones I can think of right now are:

Smooth-Carlos Santana
Get Into the Groove and Like a Prayer-both by Madonna
Y.M.C.A.-The Village People (yeah, yeah, I know. But everytime I hear it, my hands just naturally go up. lol)
Cup of Life and Living La Viva Loca-both by Ricky Martin.

Like I said, that is the short list. I'm sure I will think of more later.

dude, this song is GREAT...it makes you feel motivated and wanna dance all over the house...it is called, "Proud"...by Heather Small...BUT, it has to be the techno version (Queer as Folk Illicit Mix)....the regular version is too slow.....ok, now you all go and download it....it rocks!!! ;D

one song, and just one song.

"Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton is the only song I will dance to
and of course, never alone.

THOSE kinds of dances are in a catagory by themselves (which I didn't list). For me (as long as Carlos is there):

La Isla Bonta-Madonna
Any kind of waltz (especially Once Upon a December)
Have you Ever Really Loved a Woman-Bryan Adams

And I do agree with you with Wonderful Tonight.

Here are a few that get me going -

Walk of Life - Dire Straits (not your typical dance song, but I love listening to it in my car and trying to dance with my foot to the pedal)
Maniac - Michael Sembello
Gloria - Laura Branigan

and who could leave out "Dancing Queen" by Abba
