I no longer have to worry about school, but thought it'd be interesting :-)

They still teach that.  I took AP American Government my senior year.

History of course.

As far as I'm aware nobody has ever scored higher on the leaving exam than I did  :)

History.

As a Freshman, you took Freshman Humanities (if you were in the Honors program, as I was) and that was world history and world literature combined.  As a Junior, you took American Studies (once again, only if you were in the Honors program), and that was American history and American literature combined.  Both classes made up 2 periods .  I did VERY well in both of those classes.

It's been a decade since I was in high school...but I do remember enjoying math the most. That and foreign languages, namely Spanish.

History and Geography were two subjects I was actually interested in back in high school, and doing the readings.etc for history wasn't that much of a chore, in retrospect. I owe alot of my current knowledge of history to a certain rather eccentric history teacher I had in my lsenior year of High School...

I'd have to go with Spanish as my favorite, however I can't remember a lot.

WORST for me was Latin.

Latin is cool for me when my teacher's not in a bad mood.

Band is probably the best, just cause it's a lot of fun and there's a bond between the members unlike other classes.

I love Spanish, English Literature, and American History. I also really love Creative Writing, when I get a decent teacher.

My problem with Latin was that I had taken 4 years of Spanish first, it was hard for me to forget the stuff I learned in Spanish.  I think I would have been better off had I taken Latin first.  Luckily I passed the class (I know the teacher felt sorry for me, LOL!!) or I would not have graduated.  Heck, I tried cheating and that didn't even help!!

Music -- that was my major.
Running a close second, English (for drama and writing) and Spanish.  I liked math too.

As for science and history....couldn't wait to take that last class and be out of there!

I've always liked English... one of my stronger subjects. I liked art until I got the worst teacher ever last year. I was good at history (I got an A, don'tchaknow  ::) ), but the teacher was hopeless. I also enjoyed music and cookery was a laugh.... even though I failed it badly  ;D

Oh cack! I lied. I had Mr Clayton in third year who did physics with us . . . Now I remember. It was bloody awful. It was such a short and boring period of time that I forgot all about it and blanked it from my mind.

;D Selective memory.

I had Mr. Brierly who used to stand with his back to the class and write things on the chalkboard. People used to climb out of the windows and all sorts.
Then it was Mr. Higgins who was deaf. He'd take you out of the class and get in your face and shout at you, so I'd get in his face and shout at him  ;D

Ha ha! That is so great. He must have been pretty dense not to realise what is going on in his own class. I think the most idiosyncratic teacher we had was Mrs Reynolds for English - I think she had got out of a failed relationship while she was teaching us because she was such a bitter cow, lol. We used to call her 'Rambo Reynolds'.  ;D

To her face?

Dang, I would have hoped some of my teachers would stay in failed relationships. There were many of them I harbored real resent towards.

Yes, he was great. He just didn't care. I'm sure he turned around sometimes and was puzzled as to why only 7 people were still in the class. Still, I was never one of them.  ;D

Hmmm . . . Interesting you mention that. I knew two teachers who were too friendly in my Juniors school. Always looking dishevelled as if they have been doing more than looking for buckets in the cleaning cupboard.  ;)

He was probably relieved to find only 7 people in his class.

I love the scene in the movie "dick" when they uncover the Watergate coverup during the white house tour and subsequently mess up the class trip to mcdonald's.

Yeah, as if they were looking for buckets in the cleaning cupboard - they were probably cleaning the inside of each other's mouths with their tongues, lol.

I have a vague recollection of somehow finding myself in a home ec unit in, like, elementary school or something. i don't think I'd gotten the memo about boys being supposed to take woodshop.

Apparently I'm still working through that issue.
