It's a sad loss to music.
However, his musicality wasn't all about the Beatles and the Stones. He was a major force before and after them.

He was in a coma since earier this year. He had lost his kidney function.

I have no major details yet, as soon as I know the board will know.
I just found an article on Yahoo. Apparently, he'd been on kidney dialysis and lapsed into a coma last November. Very sad. :\'(

A tragic loss, but I had this feeling that the drugs would be the undoing of him...
Anyway, best not to dwell on his failings...just be thankful he left some glorious music behind...

What an incredible talented musician and singer he was. he performs the best cover of George Harrison's My Sweet Lord on the tribute concert to George, It is just a real moving performance. I think I'll watch it when I get home. God bless ya Billy.

In all seriousness, I have heard of him but don't know much of his music. Rest in peace.
