My birthday party is pretty much over, save my dad's friend and his family, and our next-dor neighbor.

It's been good.. I got 2 guitar pedals (Super-Chorus and Tremolo, and they can also plug into a keyboard or bass), about $135 (Though I had to buy a battery for the Super-Chorus pedal, it needed a Nine-Volt, and I also had to get a few more chords to plug from amp-to-pedal-to-pedal-to-guitar).

It's been.. a decent party, I guess. Better then most of my birthdays.

Oh, and I won't be on tonight, indeed.. my cousins are over for the evening.

I never used to get sunburned when I grew up in the San Joaquin valley where it got really hot I guess I was used to it when I was you age, but after living in the bay area for so long my skin isn't as tolerable to the sun &  I got scorched yesterda. This one dude looked like Larry the Lobster, he's gonna be hurtin today. I'm going to start carrying a tube of powerful sunscreen in my softball equipment bag.

My uncle came to get my cousins, but he's staying for an HBO show. I believe 10 will be my hour.

My cousin got me in a TON of trouble with my parents (he found my Xanga and printed out a ton of stuff), he messed up my guitar strings doing this stupid sliding thing, I had to watch my father's friend's 5-year old for about 6 hours, my cousin kept me up all night playing clips of Ween songs that would insult me (Basically, he just found songs that said the f-word on his MP3 Player, fast-forwarded to the swear, and blared it in my ear every time I was almost asleep), I've hardly eaten all weekend and I'm still getting lectures about how fat I apparently am... also, my guitar pedals are already on the fritz.

As well as a few Nirvana CDs(Nevermind, Sliver best of the boxset and the Lithium single), Melvins, Sonic Youth, Anime, Jayhawks and Smithereens CDs, Both my VCRs, one hentai DVD, two sets of headphones and two plastic storage boxes.

The funny thing is what they didn't take. As I stated, they took one hentai DVD, but all of my other DVDs are still at home, they didn't take any of my videos either. They also didn't take any of my older game systems(NES, GenesisCDX, etc.) or games and they left the Dreamcast games and cheat device I have. They left my books and other things that were in the way in on the floor(like the tapes that were in the storage boxes).

They only took one of my two TVs.

I'm glad my printed catgirl, anime and video game images weren't of any value to them.

I have been developing some ideas as to who broke in, but it's only vague. It happened while I was at work.

It's just the upstairs unit that's not working, but the computer is upstairs and all the bedrooms are upstairs.  We spend 80% of the day upstairs.  We can't all sleep downstairs, there's only 2 couches and my parents can't sleep on the floor, that ain't right.  So, it's MURDER trying to get comfortable to sleep.  It's so hot up here; the walls are hot, the doorknobs are hot, the floor is hot......if you didn't know any better, you'd think there was a fire.

I was in the kitchen adding Mikes Meat massage to a marinade and pouring it all over my meat, I turn around because Julie, my daughter is watching a movie, and it's "The Notebook" has anyone seen it? all of a sudden I see its a romantic intense sex scene and I look at the tv, I turn to my daughter as she's intently watching, I look at the tv again, then her again and then realized I was not supposed to be in that room at that time with her during that scene :o . It just felt weird, she's 17 she's growing up, she knows whats happening, but I sure felt relieved when I left the room.  ;D

Yes, it is.  In case you're not aware, it gets hot in Georgia in July (we're in the South, you know) and when it's so hot upstairs that the WALLS ARE HOT, that's not acceptable.  It's supposed to be near 96 all week.  I can't sleep on the floor downstairs all week; I'd like to be able to sleep in my own bed......but when you can't get up the stairs without choking on the hot air......it makes it just SLIGHTLY hard.


I don't know if you get oppressive heat where you live, but we get it here.

Most of the guys went to the pub at lunchtime and again after work.  ;D

Had a really nice day. Work was amazing.. we had almost zero customers the whole day, so we basically just ate, talked and played guitar. I came home around 4:00, and we had a 4th of July picnic (The rain actually held up for that). Later, my friend came over, and we all went to the fair/fireworks. The fair sucked.. swarming with pre-teens on cell phones, and people practically having sex near the food booths. Eh, you'll have that, I .. I guess.

I'm having a good day.Just came home a couple of hours ago from vacation and boy I'm tired.Before I left on Saturday,Amtrak was having trouble with their trains.The heavy rains and floods that disrupted Albany-Schenectady on Thursday so I'm glad that nightmare is over.I don't want that to happen anymore. ::)

Hahaha. Actually, that's exactly what I told Andrew yesterday. But I'd have to have money to buy the horse.. then I'd have to feed it and whatnot. So it wouldn't be much cheaper than driving.  :(

Plus, I'd have to somehow wire a stereo in the horse.

Apparently, I wasn't pissed off that he scratched my guitar, kept me up all night, etc.. I was mad because he kept me from being on the computer. And all the things to piss me off? That was just him trying to tell me I was addicted to the computer. Yeah, right, sure.

So I'm not allowed on anymore for quite some time. A few factors may bring me back early, but don't count on me for at the earliest 2-3 weeks. I'll miss you all.

And if I'm not back by the end of the month, Beth creates the new month's thread.

I missed out on an opportunity for more days at Au Bon Pain and my supervisor/owner had Sunday available so I told him that I would think about it and a few hours later,He gave the Sunday to someone else cause I was indecisive about it.Robin works a 40 hour shift,I work on Saturday and the only time we get to see each other is on Sundays and I wouldn't want Robin to get all pissy with me cause I'm not spending enough time with her or time at all.I had that golden ring and I dropped it.Who knows now if he has any more days during the week,most likely I'm going to have to wait till after the Summer's over! :(

The movie ended up being good. It reeeeeeally left it open for a third one, though. Everyone was dressed up as pirates.. we felt left out. It started an hour late because they found out they were playing the wrong movie... we were watching a preview for some scary movie (Called "The Night Listener".. it looks SO good).. and at the part of the preview where the guy was saying something on the lines of "You'll be on the edge of your seat"... all of a sudden it was all "THE MARINES WILL MAKE THE BEST OUT OF YOU!" advertisement... everyone started yelling, but after another 15 minutes the actual movie started to play.

It was a great time.

I'm not crying,I'm just indecicisive when it comes to making quick decisions right away.But the supervisor/owner said that I can be the on-call person that means if the person ever gets sick or can't come in for some reason,I would be called in on Sunday the night before or a few days in advance so that makes me somewhat happy.I'm just afraid that Sundays with Robin would be no more cause she works a 40 Hour Shift Monday-Friday and I work on Saturdays and the only time that we do have time for each other is on Sundays and she said I needed more days and I blew that opportunity but hopefully I can still be on-call in the future. :)

That's not what I've been hearing.. my whole family is convinced I have a weight problem.. apparently, enjoying a snack in the evening is freakish and a gateway to obesity.

I think it's just their criticism of choice at the moment. They like to find something and pick at it forever.

You look skinny enough. My family is constantly eating. My mother stockpiles massive quantities of crackers, cookies, and dry food around the house and is always offering to feed me. She's an ex-anorexic...and whenever I go to my grandmother's house for Passover or whatnot she plies me with food. And then tells me to lose ten pounds. Anyway, obesity runs in the family, if your parents aren't you probably won't be.

Concerning weight problems: I've been overweight most of my life. I currently weigh 260 lbs, and I feel the fittest I have ever felt. I simply modified a few eating habits I had, and I feel quite good, considering the relative food/exercise ratio. Having the birth defect I have, as well as the severity, it's difficult to find exercises I can do, that won't immobilize me for 2 days afterward. That being said, enjoy life! When God calls one home, He doesn't care where you are. Example: Jim Fix. This man was a health guru. Jogged 25 miles every day. Wrote health food books, wrote jogging books. Died of a heart attack @ age 42 when??? When he was jogging in New Jersey!
If ppl have a problem with you because of weight, they are either superficial or trying to cover their own insecurities, and therefore using you as a spiritual scratching post. I've dealt with that most of my life, too. I underwent severe depression for almost 2 yrs. as a result of this, coupled with a few other issues. I even attempted suicide, at one point. What stopped me was seeing myself in a mirror, at an institution I stayed at for a short period. I said to myself, that isn't the way to live! I had to snap myself out of it, and now I don't look back. If they can't take you for who you are, then joke 'em!

(I use the word "joke" in lieu of the traditional "F" word.)

Concerning the attitude of others: I have come to the conclusion that no one in this world is gonna be liked by everybody. I have finally realized that this is OK. It gives one something to strive upon, improve, and in the ned, show that one can be better than one's critics who berate, put down, downplay, or otherwise dog one's efforts. So, for those in this world who don't like me- Go for it. Give me a chance to make myself better than what you say of me, in the end! (Get the picture-hint, hint, hint?)

(Hint- I don't care for dentists, either. I had a tooth pulled recently, and my dentist went for a tape rule, because she had never seen one so long before.)

I've always had good luck with the dentist.. no cavities yet! My only bad thing is that my dentists are awful at numbing.. they injected me 3 times in the wrong side of my mouth once.. then injected the right side, but the wrong area. They had one of my teeth half out before I was rightly numbed... and since it took so many tries, I was numb for hours from the neck up. ;D

I haven't had any pulled yet (that's cause I take real good care of 'em)...but I had all four of my wisdom teeth surgically removed six years ago, and that's only because they were growing in crooked.

Today was a lousy day.  I had an okay morning, but just as I left to pick Chris up, my stomach ulcer started acting up....very badly.  I couldn't drive Chris to his brother-in-laws...so he got a ride (they were going to the Homerun Derby tonight at PNC Park)....so I headed straight to my parent's house. My mom offered to watch Vaughn while I relaxed. So...after a hot bath, several hours of laying down with a heating pad, and throwing up 6 TIMES....I finally started to feel somewhat better. Now I am at home...relaxing.

I have one last place to get a job.. if they don't take me, I have nowhere left within reasonable transportation distance (My mom won't let me bike to the mall and my parents work too early, I'd have to sit outside of the mall for 3-4 hours before it opened to get transportation at a time it would be available)

Hey...thanks to everyone who has offered encouragement re: my job thing.  You guys are sweet and that really helps on a bad day.

I don't know if you want advice but....I had a period of time when I didn't get a full night's sleep for months.  Doc put me on a non-addictive drug -- Trazadone.  I took it for about a year, lowering the dose bit by bit after about six months.  After the year, I was able to go off and slept much better on my own.  I'm not big on taking meds for stuff but in this case, I think it saved my sanity.  Just fyi.  Good luck!

I just toss and turn and wake up constantly with my mind racing with thoughts of worries, problems, anything really. I hate to take meds but it might be the only option. Kim, I'll give you the advice I should be taking, get that checked out girl!  ;)  :)

I have an appointment to do so on Monday ;)  If you don't want to use prescription stuff, I used to use melatonin when it was really bad.  I've also had to give it to my middle guy when his meds were keeping him up.  It's not nearly as strong as prescription stuff, but it "relaxed" me just enough to sleep better for awhile. 8)

I just discovered that my wife is thinking of taking me to a brewery for part of my birthday.

You see, every year, I try to do something different. Something I've never done before.
And for the past 5 yrs., my birthdays have sucked major morphine tabs!
It always ends up with my wife getting mad at me, because I get disappointed with never getting anything I really want. She thinks I should just be happy with any ol' thing. Doesn't matter if it's a crocheted jockstrap that's 2 sizes too small for me!
So, after last year, I told her not to do anything for this yr.'s birthday, so that I don't get a carbon-copy of the other years.

She, in effect, gave me "le oiseau", and is still trying.
I love her, and applaud her for it, but I just don't wanna suffer again.

I feel like a fool now that my supervisor asked me to work on a Sunday and I turned it down because of Robin.She works a 40 hour shift,I work on Saturdays and the only time that we do get to have time to see each other is on Sundays.I wasn't fast enough with my answer.Now I know that if a Supervisor asks you to work more days you should always say yes immediately.Always be flexible!

Geez...I'm surprised you don't live on my street!  I have a girl just like this in my neighborhood and we went through this when she took my son's scooter.  I gave her some gentle, sneaky chances to return it without having to really say she stole it...but she didn't budge.  So finally I said, "Look, I know this is my son's scooter, and I want it back now."  She made up a third or fourth story, but gave it back.  She knows, now, that I've got my eye on her and doesn't come around much anymore.  It's really hard to know how to handle these situations, and you'd think the adults involved would be helpful.

I had an awful evening last night.I was stuck in my Parent's Bedroom from the inside.What happened was I'm on the phone with a friend and I had the window slightly open to get some air and all of a sudden the gusty winds from the heavy rain slam the door shut and with the humdity,It made the door stick and this happened between 11 and 11:30pm before going to sleep.I didn't want to call my next door neighbor cause I didn't want to wake him so I was very panicky and beads of sweat poured down my shirt and face so my last resort was to call 911 and the police transfered me to the Fire Department & within 15-20 minutes later they slightly smashed the door open with a small hammer but I didn't want them to smash the door cause My Parents will come home from vacation and see a half broken door,I just wanted them to jiggle the lock open,that's all.Thank God they opened it up and saved my life.A few minutes later The Fire Department called my neighbor Andy and told him to have Howard calm down and The Fire Department had left and I was talking to my neighbor who made me feel much better,told me to try to get a good night sleep.It's an old door but I don't know how much a lock costs these days.I feel better now,just a little shaken up from the trauma.I felt like I was on the show Cops.What a nightmare and I hope that It'll never happen again! :(

It seems like misery is just showering on a good deal of us, lately!

Last night, my wife & I finally made up from the worst fight we have ever had.

This mainly stemmed from my birthday.
Ended up being a full-scale war, about how each of us have faults the other wants to change.
There are things I want her to change; there are things she wants me to change.
We both figured one of us had to give, since we are both dominant personalities.
She was going to become a mindless automaton, bending to whatever I wanted.
I was going to wipe my mind clean, so that she could have the husband she always wanted.

For 3 days, this has been going on.
Last night, we were finally able to talk rationally, and we slept together in our bed, instead of me in the bedroom & her on the couch. (Ladies- that's how she wanted it.)
I agreed to try & change the flaws I have, so that she will feel better.
She has agreed to try & change her closed-mindedness, and not be so concerned with the "have-to's" all the time.
Only time will tell....

I'm a little upset today.  I think my neighbor's granddaughter took a ring that belongs to my daughter.  I asked the grandmother to try to find out the truth (since the girl told three different stories).  I haven't heard back from my neighbor, I'm afraid I might have ruined our friendship...

I was stuck in my Parent's Bedroom.I did the most logical thing and called 911 cause this was an emergency,I was very panicky at the moment.At least I have Fire Department guys and my neighbor who care a whole lot.They saved my life.I could've suffocated in there. :P

I had an awful evening last night.I was stuck in my Parent's Bedroom from the inside.What happened was I'm on the phone with a friend and I had the window slightly open to get some air and all of a sudden the gusty winds from the heavy rain slam the door shut and with the humdity,It made the door stick and this happened between 11 and 11:30pm before going to sleep.I didn't want to call my next door neighbor cause I didn't want to wake him so I was very panicky and beads of sweat poured down my shirt and face so my last resort was to call 911 and the police transfered me to the Fire Department & within 15-20 minutes later they slightly smashed the door open with a small hammer but I didn't want them to smash the door cause My Parents will come home from vacation and see a half broken door,I just wanted them to jiggle the lock open,that's all.Thank God they opened it up and saved my life.A few minutes later The Fire Department called my neighbor Andy and told him to have Howard calm down and The Fire Department had left and I was talking to my neighbor who made me feel much better,told me to try to get a good night sleep.It's an old door but I don't know how much a lock costs these days.I feel better now,just a little shaken up from the trauma.I felt like I was on the show Cops.What a nightmare and I hope that It'll never happen again! :(

I have very few friends, these days. Most of my friends have gone, some have died...others betrayed my friendship, by actions & things said.

That's part of why I started coming out here. To top it off, I have to retire from a Society I have belonged to for 8 yrs., and have made a lot of friends there.

This morning, i started to break down, because I don't have much of a life, these days.

Our House is an accident waiting to happen.The house we live in now is pretty much accident prone.

I got my job. All I need now is a Work Permit. And tomorrow, I also go for my Learner's Permit to drive.

good luck with the 6 hours. My daughter had a tough instructor, but he was good. He took her on some very tough courses.

Hopefully, in a few weeks, I'll be able to drive with an adult in the car, legally. I'm 16, but when I'm 17 I can go for the license that allows me to drive in the car alone, but it has more limitations than the one when I'm 18, which is my permanent New Jersey license.

I finally called a Locksmith this afternoon to have him come over and put in a new doorknob with a hinge and a new pair of keys to go along with it.The price was 55 with 105 labor so all together It cost me about 160 dollars.Quite expensive but It was worth every effort he put towards the doorknob and hinge.My Parents will flip out when they find out that I paid so much for it but I'll show them the proof of the receipt that the Locksmith gave me.But anyway,the damage was patched up.The door is a little smashed in on top and on the bottom but overall,I'm feeling a little better than the other day.I'm looking forward to seeing what My parents reaction and words will be when they come home on Monday evening.Wait till they get a shock out of this situation that happened to me.

Wow, that sucks!!  I hope he can straighten up.

Feeling better about the situation with my neighbor's granddaughter. 

My neighbor isn't mad at me, her granddaughter admitted to stealing my daughter's ring.  She (the girl) apologized to my daughter and me.

I'm relieved that I didn't accuse an innocent person of stealing but I'm also upset that someone I trusted would take something from me.

Yes of course, but this has been ongoing for some years now and isn't a situation that we could ever resolve unfortunately,  just got a reminder of the past last weekend and got took back to a place in my head I don't want to be at again.   It is very difficult watching someone you love/loved still abusing themselves with alcohol, sadly for Chris it's hereditary, his brother died of liver failure at 27 ( 27!!) and his father is a complete wreck at 63 but looks 93 because of the same disease, his dad won't stop drinking despite repeated warnings from his GP that he must.
It's galling and a tragic situation for Chris because I've seen him on top of his game fitness wise but he lapses and it's unbearable. 

Sigh... things were going much better, but something awful happened between me and my family. I wrote this a few days ago, it sums it up:


Today, I realized I will never, ever have a loving relationship with my parents. I mean, I've tried all my life to make it better.. but I always f--k it up somehow. I'm never going to have parents to share in my accomplishments, parents to be proud or happy for me... I'm going to have no one to share in my life milestones and accomplishments.. no family is going to be there for me. And for some reason, that's starting to hurt me. I guess it's sinking in for the first time.

All I do is hurt them.. they keep trying, and I ruin everything my parents do.. at least that's what they tell me. I don't know why I expect anymore, I guess it's just something I see a lot of, and I don't understand.. that good, or at least semi-tolerable relationship with parents most people have... God knows I've never felt loved by them.. shiiiiiiit. This is hard all the sudden. Maybe it's cause I'm really thinking about my future.. what am I gonna do if I get married, or graduate college, or anything monumental in my life? I have no one to share it with. I guarantee we'll be estranged, I can't live like this, not with this relationship with someone. It's too much.

My parents are fighting a lot again (as usual, they say it's my fault)... it's getting harder and harder still for us to talk to each other... it's.. Hell, it's a lot of stuff. And it's finally hitting me that I'm going to go through my life without supportive or caring parents.

I got my permit.. my father took me out driving. I went the whole way across town after about 30 minutes of practicing the basics (mostly just turning and working the pedals.. turn signals required no practice, I had that right away. It was okay, but it was a bit much for my first time.. especially cause my dad took me through the busy part of town, a bit excessive for my first time out. But my father says I drive very well, and with a little practice, I should be a damn good driver.

I'm also one of the few among my friends who got their permit on the first try.

Cool about the permit... I hope my test goes as well....
