Subject: Feel Any Way, News of Any Form- August

Written By: Apricot on 08/01/06 at 9:24 pm

The reason I was gone last night (the church's 30-Hour Famine) was okay.. I really didn't get that hungry. As part of the thing, we had to not only eat, but we did yard work and crap for other people.. I was put on removing pegboards and putting in insulation... I somehow established middle management.. and it turned into a bureaucracy. Don't ask me how.. but it did.. in 3 hours.

After it was over, we went to McDonalds, and I'm pretty sure I'm generally well-liked by my co-workers, cause everyone talks to me and stuff, even when I'm off-shift. It's cool.

Glad to be home.

I had an absolutely horrific driving lesson yesterday. This woman let another student pull out of my driveway (apparently she was still on another lesson), and he promptly hit the giant rock at the bottom of it, and it dented his car. And then, we went to the nightmarish DMV, dropped off this kid in a town about half an hour driving distance away from where I live, and, talking on her cell phone and speaking no English, forced me to drive sixty miles an hour on major highways. I'm traumatized and we're switching to another driving school...there is absolutely no fudgeing way I am supposed to drive on the Garden State Parkway, an interstate highway, on my first driving lesson.

Heh, August. Damn month.

I have a lot of things going through my mind tonight. I'm not exactly in a very good mood. I'm hoping I start to feel at least somewhat better soon.

However, on a lighter note (!!!!), today was actually fun. My co-worker and I played baseball in the store. We broke so much crap, it was amazing. He won, so obviously I started hitting him with the little plastic bat. Mid-hit, a customer comes into the store and gives us a very strange look. We freeze, bat still in the air, and say in unison "Hello, How are you today?!" with the biggest smiles we could muster.

There are days, such as this, when I absolutely love my job.

When I was learning to drive my old man had me drive to Nottingham.. a town about 30 some miles away up the Motorway.

His reasoning was that if I could do that first time I'd be fine.

I was, it was easy.

You'll get used to driving on the highway soon.

I'm an awful driver but much prefer driving on the highway because I have so much space around me and can keep a pretty much constant speed. It's E-A-S-Y!

Today.. you really disapoint me.

Today I'm fairly annoyed. I was looking forward to seeing some of my friends before I leave.. well, I called around, half of them are currently on holiday. (Goddam last minute deals!) and others are working, have commitments etc. Still.. I'll see a few of them tomorrow at some point for a last pint.
This is what happens when you refuse to plan ahead.  ;D

I'm taking off piano today.. this sucks, if I don't get better, cause I'm working 4-11 tomorrow.

Congested.. well.. in a way.

I don't really suffer from hay-fever, but.. the one thing that does get me is the dust from dry hay.

So, today..

I went to see to the horse this morning and lo & behold she had ripped the lid off of her hay storage box thingy. So I'm standing there trying to fix this thing and sneezing every minute, she's spagging out because she has no idea why i'm making so much noise, I hit my hand with the hammer, I got seriously mad and started yelling and cursing a streak and then looked over the stable door to see some kid.. I would guess about 6 or 7 standing there watching me.

Funny moment.

Anyway, I took some pirotin (however you spell it - Hayfever stuff) and it seems to have worked, I just sounded like John Major for a while.  ;D

That often happens on summer vacation. Maybe you need to start drinking juice. Or tea. Both help me with the perennial lethargy I experience without requisite stimuli.

Eat more vegetables and carbohydrates. Works for me. And lots of hot liquids.

I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art today. It was interesting...there was a Mayan ancient artifacts show, a tradition/transgression British Fashion show (showed how modern designers like Manolo Blahnik, Malcolm McLaren, and Vivienne Westwood played on old British archetypes like the fox hunt), a Girodet (a romantic painter from the early 19th century) show, and a Raphael altarpiece. Here's some pics:

Girodet Show-

My two favorites from the show.

Raphael altarpiece-

I have to get in more to the city's museums, there are some great shows coming up this fall and winter.

We went to the one out here in Ventura County for the first (and only) time in 2003, just to see what it was like. We might go to it again some other time, probably not this year, though.  During the 90's we went to the one out in Orange County with my mom's cousin (who had been living in Tustin with his family at the time). And I think we went to the one in L.A. County (Pomona) in 1989.

At work, we had a meeting to talk about protocol.. they gave everyone but me, this girl I don't know, and Fantastic Steve off, but they had to go to the meeting.. we had to work, so we'll make up the meeting at some other time. But everyone who was allowed at the meeting got a free meal.. and Fantastic Steve and I don't because we weren't there.. cause they wouldn't let us! ;D

It sucked, making meals for 20 people all at once and not getting a free one.. but it was dead slow after that, so they let me out 2 hours early.

So you have to get the house back in order, get all the girls out, restock the liquor cabinet, etc. etc.  ;)

In the serious sense, I do not need to do any of that...for I have had nobody over. I've kept the place tidy as can be. :) ;D

I just need to log off and prepare myself for when they officially get home; that is, pull into the driveway.

We had a continuous rush, with 15 minute interims every 90 minutes. It was just me and Fantastic Steve (Who doesn't know how to make sandwiches well yet, so I taught him, but he's still slow) and Cool Seth.. but they kept sending Cool Seth (who knows more then any of us, having worked 16 times longer then us) to do stuff.. the store was understocked and we got a ton of business. It was tiring. I stayed late.. but I got a free milkshake and overtime pay out of it.

Also, today was my first pay day. Not bad at all.

sorry to hear that, but it is most likely more a communication problem than anything else. you guys speak 2 different languages, they don't understand you very well, and you may not understand them so well either. I got a 17 year old and I know that I eff up all the time with my big mouth saying things that make her feel untrusted, incapable and other feelings that aren't pleasant and I know it's mostly me not knowing what else to say so I say the wrong thing which is what your parents are doing. it'll get better as you get older. hang in there  8)

That's horrible. Well, some people are just born to the wrong parents. There was this incredibly profound passage in a book that I read, saying that if you aren't born to the right parents, than you spend your life looking for them. Well, probably you'll know better than to do that to your own kids, anyway. I've gotten in some fairly big fights with my parents over time, since they're irrevocably screwed up in their own way. Eventually, you'll grow up and move out and realize not to repeat their mistakes, and sort of accept how sh*tty your parents could be, as part of maturation, I suppose.

As for me...my dad's friend finished a book that he helped to edit, so we went to her sister's brownstone in Park Slope/North Flatbush for a five hour garden party, which I was invited to. I got a little drunk and gregarious and I ended up talking for hours with these two gay guys in their 30s and 40s, one of whom designs Aretha Franklin's costumes, about actresses and singers and The Golden Girls and all these wonderful things gay men bond over. My dad's friend knew about alot of '80s music that I like (Elvis Costello, The Smiths, etc.) being born in 1969, so we talked about that and literature for awhile. The owners of the brownstone had an original watercloset from the 1880s, and an antique 1920-1950ish tie collection that included the tie Cary Grant wore in North by Northwest. These people gave us a ride back to Port Authority, which we missed the closing of by two minutes.

Mine start the 23rd.  Which brings me to the stupid school district.....first off, they are switching my kids from a school that's about 5 minutes away to one that's about 20....second, they won't give me ANY information about bus schedules (even though they HAVE them).....third, they won't give me any information about classrooms or even verify if my youngest is in morning or afternoon kindergarten (I've heard he's in afternoon, but they won't verify that >:()  So, I get to go to the school and argue with them in person ::)

The public schools in Chicago started after Labor Day, but the private schools started the 2nd week of August.  The upside to that was we got to get out of school before they did.  I don't really see what the big deal is about school starting before/after Labor Day.

Howard- Trust me, cooking is essential to bachelorhood survival!

Learn also the following: Fried rice (trust me on this- coupled with Top Ramen, it works wonders!)

Lasagna (this helps if you like Italian food)

Spaghetti squash (if used in place of pasta, it it AWESOME- you can eat as much as ya want, & not be bloated afterward- also helps cut down on "butt trumpet" action; I'm sure Robin will appreciate this)

Grilled chicken breast (or baked, if you have no access to a grill- either way, it's healthy, and versatile)

At least one breaded recipe (My 1st one was breaded catfish, but any will do)

You can't go wrong...unless you are one of those who burns water!
In that case, I suggest you frequent some restaurants with magnets indicating the delivery number.
Men have reputed these things to have saved their lives!

You can put chicken in bread and make it a sandwich! ; D

It sucks, I used to be so good.  I maintain the same weight for years, and even after I had my children I got back down quickly.  After my mother died I started to gain weight, slowly but here recently I've gotten out of control.  I'd like to drop about 20 pounds (maybe more).  Now if I could walk on the treadmill and post here at the same time I think I could do it.  LOL!!

Well, getting the Home Networking added to your DSL service was only $5 a month extra added to your bill.  The cost of the router and the wireless card for my laptop (my sister's already came with one) was $70.  So in total, $75.  It's not that expensive.

Today has been rather OK, bordering on good.

My jaw still hurts from the incision, but the only thing that really agitates it is when I try to open the left side of my mouth, so it's still soft food for a bit.

On the upside- My 5 yr. old told one of her friends who wanted to do something naughty "no, because that's outside of my boundaries" (her friend wanted to sneak off to an area beside the Laundry room, in our complex); I found maps and helpful hints to a game I haven't played in years because I was afraid I'd never beat the thing (I have all 3 in the trilogy); tonight, my wife & I are taking some "quality adult time" in the form of a Date Night; and I found out that a major rival of mine, business-wise, got busted today for drug possession. This jackass has been trying to run me out of business for 5 yrs. now, and has used almost every trick in the book to discredit or slander me.

Needless to say, I'm doing quite well. 8)

Yesterday was the last day of Band Camp. Disappointing, yes. But we still have meetings occasionally in the summer, and then when school starts.. football games! Lots of fun, that stuff is.

Spent the night at a friend's house last night.. for the first time in my life, I actually laughed until I cried.. not a pleasant experience. It hurts more then anything... hard to breathe. Ah, well.. it does show how much fun my night was.

I found out more then just the two freshmen like me.. apparently, half the damn class of 2010 is hot for me. It's.. hilarious, really. Somehow, over this summer, I gained some fantastic power over the hearts and minds of people younger then me.

If you want to use the provider's equipment, be covered under warranty and have 24 technical support, then yes you do.  It's only $5 a month extra added to the $40-something dollars we already pay for DSL.  It's not even a blip.  BellSouth has really good deals and their prices for internet service are great, so my dad didn't mind taking on the extra cost.

Got a surprising note in the mail today...

About 2 wks. ago, I entered in an int'l. poetry contest, sorta off-the-cuff.
I was originally thinking about having my wife enter, since she's a poet in her own right.

She is suffering writer's block, so I thought, what the hell.
I came off with an impromptu poem, submitted it online, and forgot about it.

In my mail today, I received a letter from the Int'l. Library Of Poetry.
My poem is getting published, and I am a semi-finalist, in the contest.
I am competing for around 104 prizes, including a Grand Prize of $1,000. There's also an Annual Grand Prize of $10,000.

Needless to say, I was shocked! :o :o :o

Yeah. I didn't realize until AFTER I submitted my poem. They make it sound great-and you even get your poem is a book!  :o  But the book cost you I can't remember how much money-but I do remember it was quite a lot.

I think the book will be a private publication and will not be in the shops. Have you Google Search?

Update: almost 11 AM, still no communication. :-\\

Well...she finally returned my call at 11:38. Apparently her phone had been in silent mode. I didn't know this until I called her from my cell phone, which was at a quarter to 12. By this time my dad had already taken me to the place where my picnic was gonna be (and I had arrived early). My friend said that she had left a message on my home phone "a few minutes ago," since that's the number I left in my message to her. It all worked out, though. And I had a great time today. :) O0

No, he wasn't grounded as such...he was only allowed to use his computer for 'school-related' purposes...which usually means nothing, since it's a bit hard for your parents to control how you use your own computer, specially when it's in your room.

Not sure how it works with home schooling...I would think you'd still roughly follow the yearly curriculum, if you wanted to do the exams at the same time as everybody else. His mum teachers him, apparently, as well as looking after his four other brothers and sisters.  :o

Today... was... amazing. I never had that much fun in my entire life. We went to the city, and took pictures. When we went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe', my one friend told the waitress that it was my birthday. After we ate, she said "You need to follow me". She took me to the middle of the restaurant, made me stand on a table, handed me an ice cream sundae, and everyone in the building sang Happy Birthday to me. It was great.

I am sooooooo not a morning person.  I think it might be a bit more manageable if my other son's bus came earlier as well, but I'll have nothing to do between 6:35 & 8:13 and unfortunately, that's not quite enough time to take a quick nap (at least not for me) :(  Luckily, my oldest is pretty self-sufficient and more of a morning person than me so at least HE'LL be "awake" ;)

I ain't exactly a morning person either. And when I went to school from K through 12, I never went there via the bus. One of my parents always drove me. Still, I had to get up early, especially during my high school years. It usually took 20-25 minutes to get from my house to the school, depending on the traffic situation on the freeway. Of course, that's before there were any surface-street thoroughfares north of Devonshire Street in the NW San Fernando Valley (in the NW portion of Los Angeles).

If anyone is interested, I will elucidate on the way it happened last year. This will give you more insight as to how my mind works. (IF YOU DARE! Muhuhuhuhahahahahahaha!)

Does your camera have a timing device? Then you could set it, place it on top of something, and then it will take the picture.

Well, by the time we got there, all of the new people had left, and the only ones that were there were the people who've been going there for a while. Everyone knew each other, and they were all running around, sliding on this huge slip-n-slide, and ... I don't know, there really weren't any openings for conversation, so Nat and I kinda just stood there, and talked to each other.

Everything's been pissing me off today.

My aunt was on my ass about college. It starts the 28 and I STILL don't have my financial aid turned in or my dorm fee paid for. WTF am I supposed to do about it? Screw college, I don't even bloody care anymore.

I've been trying to watch the news all day, covering the new lead in the JonBenet case, then Casie came over to stay the night, and she and the kids were running around the house, screaming, and being... kids. Then she and my aunt were on the computer, blasting horrible music, if you can even call it that. It amazes me how people can listen to such tasteless, meaningless, brain cell-killing noise.

I just wanna go out to a public place and punch them in their faces, I'm so mad.

And Jesus, does anyone other than me f*cking clean this house? Every day I clean it, then when everyone gets home, it looks like sh*t. I'm so sick and tired of it. If I made any spelling errors, sorry. I'm too lazy to look over it.

When I first started college, I just went to a nearby community college; I wasn't sure what I wanted to do as of yet. Three years later, I transferred to the university, where I've been attending for the past five years.

I'm really not(no offense guys, lol).  I've been on the net since I was 13, and I've spent a LOT of time on it.  This doesn't really entertain me like it used to, but despite this, here I am.  Not anything else to do.

The only things I can think of to do that would be fun, aren't really fun to me going by myself.  The only things I could think of would be going out to eat or going to the movies.

dude, if you were a musician, you could write some good effn'g blues songs, I'm sure that's how most blues were written, in the midst of low times. blues ain't nuthin' but a good man feeling bad. Joe Seneca said that in the 1986 movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio.

I personally find it much harder to write when I'm in the lowest parts of feeling down.

I'm over at Dustin's house, waiting for Brendi and Mindy to come over, and we're going clubbing! Woop and stuff. This would be my first time ever going to a club. I hope I have fun, even though I do NOT dance.
so how was it nicki? did you have fun? did you dance even though you do NOT dance?  8)

Weeeeeell, we ended up NOT going to a club (the one in mind looked more like a bar/lounge, and it was in the "ghetto" and it scared Brendi lol), so we went to downtown Nashville and walked around. That was so great. There was a guy with a monkey, a guy who looked like a statue, lots and lots of people, LOTS of music, and really neat buildings, including the Hard Rock Cafe.

I took pictures, but they look crappy because I was hanging out of the car, lol, and it was night time.

Then the car started acting up, something about the transmission, and we went straight to a hotel. That was loads of fun, and we left at 11 today.

They were 18. Cookeville High School Class of 2006. Their lives were just beginning.

Sean was driving; Lauren, Becky, Megan, and Philusa were in the car too. It totally wrecked.  Lauren and Becky were thrown from the car. I think Lauren died soon after/during that. Megan, Philusa, and Sean weren't that injured and were able to walk around the scene. Becky died today in the hospital. I can get the link from a news site, if you want to read more about the crash.

That's what hits me the hardest. I didn't really KNOW her, but I talked to her a few times and saw her around the coffeeshops all the time. Just realizing that I'll never ever see her at Poets or East 1st again really makes me sad. I told my best friends that I thought she was the prettiest girl in Cookeville. And she was. Shawn (divine_intervention) and I were so jealous of her, not in a bad way. And now she's gone.

Ladies and gentlemen, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. Ever.

oh dear Ashley, a very sad day for your community and for Cookeville High. I am so sorry and saddened to hear this tragic news. Last year a 17 year old cheerleader from Julie(my daughters school) was killed in an auto accident and it was devastating to schoolmates and family beyond anything. I shed many tears at that funeral as a huge turnout of fellow students and parents showed up to pay respects and support the family and student body. It's gonna be sad & painful for a while Ashley, all you can do is grieve & mourn the loss of young life, and be supportive with one another. Take care

This is indeed a tragedy- whenever young people die, particularly by such violent-yet-stupid-and-pointless methods.

Speaking as an entertainer, I have seen many instances where someone who is drunk will drive- or attempt to- and end up either hurting themselves or someone else.

I try to always remind my clientele to drink well, drink responsibly, and have a designated driver- even if that means me.

Cookeville will mend, and things will go on, but take the time you have now to reflect, grieve, and remember your friends. Grieving is the first step toward healing, recollection is the next. The rest fall into place after.
I know this, as I have also seen my share of death.

You have my sincerest condolences, as do the families of these young victims.

Today has been one of introspection for me-

My daughter had her first day of Kindergarten.
I was bombarded by phone calls asking about apartments, most of the day.
My mom is supposed to be coming to stay with us, for awhile...(Long story)
Not sure what I'm gonna do about Thursday...my wife & I are supposed to have a "Date Night", but I'm a bit broke, and I'm supposed to be singing at the Butte County Fair, that day (the exhibition singing I have been babbling about)

To top it off, I need to fart.

My day was great on so many levels. Well, maybe that's an overstatement. Second day of SOAR (pretty much college freshman orientation), and we all had to make our sections. Out of all those people there (there were lots), I was the only one majoring in English. *gasp*

My schedule was SO easy to make. I'll probably post it here later, or just on my xanga. I'm doing 17 hours a week. The minimum is 12, but if you get more hours, you can drop classes that you don't want or seem too hard.

When we were done making our schedules, I walked around the Tech bookstore with Dustin and his parents, then I left and got some cigarettes on the way home.

Talk about feeling like an adult. Whoa. That's probably the reason why today was so great.

I'd prefer not to make it public... the concerned parties are all aware at this point anyway. It's not a fiancee, I'm not even of age yet. She wasn't my girlfriend, but I feel as if my relationship with my closest friend is going to change from this point on.

I'm really proud of you for that!  I want to do it too but I just haven't given it a go yet.  You're doing great!!  I'm giving you Karma.

I'm feeling pretty good because I challenged myself by applying for a big job (exec. director of a non-profit).  They actually invited me for an interview!  It went pretty well but I think I'm underqualified in a couple of important areas (like experience running a non-profit, duh).  Still, it took some guts on my part and I'm giving myself a pat on the back.

Today's turning out to be not a bad day.. I'm looking into buying a synth guitar, and buying some new strings for my acoustic (the strings are almost two years old, I should have re-strung a looooooong time ago).. keeping busy helps.

I am preparing for top battle form!

You see, there's this singing contest which is becoming an annual thing.
Throughout No. California, they have the local version of "American Idol", on the Fair circuits.
This year marks Butte County's 3rd year in the participation.

I competed both previous years. The 1st year, i took 2nd, even though it was very hotly debated, and it later came out that the winner played "dirty pool", in order to win. (She broke 2 rules, and one judge threatened never to return if she wasn't chosen as the winner. This judge works for MTV.)

Last year, the winner wasn't allowed to compete. She came back for exhibition singing (meaning, she rehashed her line-up from her winning year).
There were about 12 competitors last year, and I smashed them to pieces. I won $250, and went to the next round, in Auburn. I took 3rd there, but again it was very hotly debated (about 9/10 of the crowd shouted "fixed", and it came out that the winners for that year and the previous yr. came from Colusa. The Aburn Fair coordinator had previously run Colusa's. Hmmmmm.....)

So, on to this year- I can't compete, but I was formally requested back to sing in between judging rounds. Anyone who knows me knows that I NEVER repeat my material, unless specifically requested by the audience to do so.
I am singing twice- the first piece I've chosen is "White Wedding" by Billy Idol; the other is a Meat Loaf tune called "All Revved Up & No Place To Go".

I am working on getting costuming together, and I know the songs like the back of my hand. My choreography tends to come out on-the-fly, so to speak.

As I stated on another thread, I will be posting pics when I get them.

I am SOOOO PISSED right now.  There was a HUGE mix-up with the buses yesterday (the first day of school) where my youngest was put on a different bus than his brother (the bus driver had a list of kids who were supposed to be on the bus and one was there, but not the other).  So, I don't know when/how they figured it out, but they had my son get OFF the bus at a stop and get ON the other bus :o  They have these name tags with their bus info on them so I want to know HOW it happened and reassurance that it won't happen again.  I just called the transportation department and was told to "give it a couple of weeks, it should be straightened out by then".  I was, like "HUH!?!  A 5 year old is put on the wrong bus and you're telling me to let it work itself out?"  Then the lady asked me for his name and THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF HIM :o  I told her obviously they DO because a) I got the letter from THEM telling me what his bus info was and b) his name tag has bus info on it.  Anyhoo, she said there were quite a few problems with various buses yesterday and she'd have to look into it and get back to me >:(  Let me tell you, if they DON'T, there WILL be hell to pay !!!

Damn right! You have every right to be pissed off, Mama!
If they don't straighten things out to your satisfaction, I'd talk to the School Board Superintendant.
If they don't get the squeaky wheel greased, sue 'em.

My parents had a situation a little similar to yours...except mine was more humiliating.
I was once beat up on a school bus going to school, and the whole bus started chiming in, to pick on me...INCLUDING the driver.
My parents were ready to sue the School District, for the humiliation I went through, my 2nd- 4th Grade tenure, where I was.

TG- It occurs to me that you're too melancholy and sanguine.

May I suggest 30 minutes in a hot tub, a relaxing massage, and a good meal?
If this is not possible, watch "Caddyshack". That will have the same effect.

I thought melancholy and sanguine were two different things.

Actually, we do have a hot tub at our home.. and I'm going to get a good meal soon. I'll be out for the evening at a band practice (School Band has to get ready, our first show is in 8 days at the first football game!), so that ought to keep my mind off of things.

Most ppl who suffer from a disability can either be:

Cat- Have you tried Benadryl, or some decongestant?

No. I hate taking anything like that because it basically knocks me out. I have VERY low tolerence-even stuff that isn't supposed to make you drowsy, knocks me out. It is diminishing (a bit). If it still is bothering me close to bedtime, I will take something.

Howard, you're a very nice guy and you seem to do an awful lot to appease Robin.. maybe it's time to find a nice girl.

I just can't,I love her so much. It's ok to be serious about work and thinking about each other's futures once in a while but being too serious and not having much fun some of the times is really not good. Her work time is Monday-Friday,9-5,Saturday she spends time with her friends or family and Sundays, she goes out with me.See,I'm not trying to prove anything to her Parents,I want to prove to myself that I can hold down a job and I've been at Au Bon Pain 6 months now and doing my very best.I guess she's right on her part that work and money come first then you'll have the fun later on with money to spend whatever you want and that's my goal, full time and then having more money to spend the things that I want to spend it on.

Just because she apologizes doesn't mean she's sorry.  If she was truly sorry, after the first time she did it.....she wouldn't do it again.  That's the same excuse abusive spouses use to get away with their behavior.  "It's okay that I beat you, because I apologized to you."  She may not be beating you up, but verbal abuse is still abuse.

Tell her you're tired of the verbal put-downs.  If she can't respect you enough to be bothered to quit, she's not worth your time.

I must say, I feel almost red-letter, about today!

As some of you know, I had my 2nd Round of Exhibition singing at Butte County Fair, today.

As I got there, the guard recognized me from Thursday. He said he heard people talking about a singing performance that must've been me. I was the only guy fitting the description that was given.
Apparently, I was given favorable reviews.

This time, I was asked to sing 2 songs instead of just one.
So, to open up, I sang "Who Wants To Live Forever?", by Queen- see the "Highlander" soundtrack.
One of the Judges later came up to me & asked why I never competed with that song.
(Turns out he's a BIG Queen fan!)

Of course, my Nemesis, Ms. Amber Sauer, also had to show up, and when she heard I ws getting 2 songs, she demanded an additional song...and got it. (She just can't stand the fact that no matter what she does, out of the 2 of us, I am the better performer.)

-I apologize if this seems a bit egotistical, but there are only about 3 things in life about which I have any sort of ego: My singing is one of them. When I can, I will have to submit some of my covers.

Anyway, during the Judges' Conference to determine placings, I had changed into my costume for the Meat Loaf classic, "All Revved Up & No Place To Go". This time, there was not a single person in that ampitheatre that wasn't on their feet. I don't know if it was when I jumped off the stage, or if it was when I ripped off my shirt, to reveal the leather vest & typical Patriotic Eagle shirt, which of course marked my transition from "the lonely All-American boy" to essentially a biker. Whatever, I got a standing ovation, including the Judges all saying over the microphone, "God, Wayne, we MISSED you!!!"

The only one who said nothing about my performance was Amber. But then, I really wouldn't expect her to.

At any rate, my wife forgot to get any real action shots of me-  >:( >:( >:(- but she did get a few costume shots of me. I also got one taken with my 5 yr. old daughter. I'll post 'em when I can.

We enjoyed the Fair as best we could, and when we got home, my daughter was fast asleep.
All in all, I had a damn good day.
(Plus- the MTV judge, who is retired from MTV, has my contact info, and has promised me he will farm out my numbers & info, when he gets back to LA.)

I say again: You don't need that!

Today was.. awesome. My teachers are REALLY cool, and I get the impression the work isn't really going to be as bad as it seems right now.

Though my schedule seems like it was made specifically to irritate my father.. I have no Law classes, a Study Hall, Sociology and an Art Class.. and the funny thing about Art is that my Art teacher is named Chris Martin. ;D

Just had a nasty surprise. While rummaging through my refrigerator I found an old Country Crock margarine container that I'd forgotten about. When I opened it up I found some Tuna Helper that I'd cooked up about 3 weeks ago. The smell about knocked me to the floor.  :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I think I'm coming down with a cold :(

It's her disability,Asperger's.rainy, gloomy dank and dark weather makes her irritable but nice sunny weather makes her feel good sort of like bipolar disorder in a way.

To get the flavor of what it's like for men, listen to Bill Engvall's disc, "Now That's Awesome".
There's a skit he does that describes it to a T.
To make it worse, it concerns pads, and his 8 yr. old son.

My son proceeds to yell out,"Here's the little girl narrow pads, Daddy!!!!!!!!"

I had four total taken of me: One standing, one sitting holding my guitar and the two of me holding catgirl images.

I'm going to get them put on a disc when I go and get them developed, I just need to use the rest of the exposures so I can do it. I don't know what else to take at the moment.

I'm a bit frustrated. My long rambling story...

Ever since we moved here from California, I have expressed the desire to go to my grandfather's hometown and visit it and see if I can find out anything about my great-grandparents. From what my mom has told me, my great-grandmother was a sweet lady. I have a picture of her, and you can certainly see why my mom says that. She looked like the motherly type. Anyways, I want to pay my last respects to her (she died when I was a year old) and to my great-grandfather (who died like four years before I was born).

This past week I have been looking and looking to see where they are buried, to find an obituary, something to give me clues to where their final resting place is. I didn't turn up anything. I finally contacted the state library in Indianapolis, and they sent me an email yesterday saying that they were going to send my great-grandmother's obituary to me. This will hopefully turn up what I'm looking for. If not, then I will have to start calling up cemetery offices and see if they have records of them.

So yeah. There's my story. Sometime in the next month though, I'm going to visit this place. I think my grandfather's spirit is willing me to go there.

It's not really difficult. I took psychology in high school. He just goes too fast and doesn't give a sh*t. And we work in the same little group every songle bloody day. That sucks because I'm better off working alone.

Question: How were you diagnosed in the first place?

You see, BPD is a general "catch-all" term used by psychologists and shrinks who aren't exactly sure what you have.

Answer: I've never been professionally diagnosed. I've did my research on it and even took a test to see what disorder I have. I was 100% Borderline. And I've read about BPD on wikipedia, and with 99% of the symptoms, I was shaking my head, thinking, "That's me, that's me."

The test was online, by the way. I know I'm not really supposed to trust it 100%, but it was a very intelligent, laid-out test.

I'm so pissed. Pissed, pissed, pissed. The class and even the teacher make me feel so damn stupid.

I think I have Borderline Personality Disorder.

Don't be upset about it.. I'm totally Borderline.

Make light of the situation, it's easier to deal with than if you're Bi-Polar.. those poor bastards feel the same way you or I might.. however, with us it may last just an hour or some.. with them, it can last weeks at a time.

Truer than you realize, Davey...truer than you realize.
I am Bi-Polar Type II- my depression lasts longer than my euphoria.
My wife calls it "my funk".

In other news, I'm quite happy now. English class was just the thing I needed to make me feel better. And to top things off, we read children's books! College is weird like that. Anyways, I have to write a memoir. 4-6 pages. Once I find out what I'm going to write about, it will be a piece of cake. Hence why I'm an English major.

And Hawk, I had no idea you were bipolar. You sure fooled me. And Davey, I'm glad to see another fellow borderline individual on the boards. *high five to mah homies*

Nicki- There are more of us than you know.
We are like the Illuminati- We're here, and people know we're here, but they pretend that we're not here.

Davey- Yes, it does, but look at it this way- Makes for some killer poetry!

Whenever I perform or play sports I try to get myself in to an angry violent state of mind, far more expressive and passionate.

Makes for some killer tackles.  ;D

For school. It was actually... a lot of fun. The placement test was awesome, and I met a really nice person.

It's good that you had fun at your orientation. It's also good to meet really nice people; I've met a lot of those over the last several years. :)

What school was this for? are you in college?

It's for Oakbridge Art Academy. However, being that my loan hasn't quite gone through yet (Because of some stupid mistake), I have to wait until next term =(. Not very happy about that... at all, but it's only 3 months away. Meh, it'll give me time to buy a laptop, I guess..

MAN!  I need to take THAT English class.....my assignment for Tuesday is:  Scan Wordsworth's "A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal" and write a 1 page paper (single-spaced) on how the metrical structure sets the tone and meaning for the poem :o

Once again, it's a new month and we have to wait for the new thread.

In the meantime, I feel pretty good today. :)

I ASK YOU, MUST WE GO THROUGH THIS EVERY SINGLE MONTH?!

I got locked out of my home this morning, and I was really late for work. Ah well.

Luckily, Erin was there to pick me up. I think I'd still be sitting outside, if she hadn't! D=
