Subject: Misconceptions About The English Language You Recently Rectified...

What are some misnomers/misconceptions you've had relating to spelling, grammar.etc you've had for since forever, which you've just recently realised were totally wrong? One really obvious (And slightly embarrassing one). I thought 'suttle' and 'subtle' were different words until about two years ago...though of course, I would've realised it if I'd thought for just a second. I didn't realise what I thought was 'suttle' was just how you pronounce 'subtle.' So there you go...
