There's a doctor on PBS who does an interesting lecture on how old your body is compared to how old you really are, depending on how you've treated yourself over the years. It's quite an eye opener. For example, he compared an 85 year old man's arteries to a 45 year olds, and the 85 year old had an artery of a 9 year old! Pretty impressive!
So, how old do you really feel?

I turn 47 later this month. Today I feel like 20 because I'm excited about my date tonight. I just need to stay away from the mirror because I don't look 20! 8)
(Some days I feel my age and some days younger but rarely older).

I feel my age. Every now and again when the plate in my leg gives me grief, I feel like an old lady, but 99% of the time, I feel like I'm 24.

Yeah, a plate and 6 screws holding my kneecap to my fibula. I had a horrible bicycle accident 7 years ago that broke my leg right below the kneecap. I have to have a plate to hold it all together.

Sometimes I feel 24, and sometimes I feel like 30 - especially when I don't exercise as much. I noticed some strange spots on my skin that were never there before. My feet look like they have been beat up more - more swollen. I noticed wrinkles settling in my forehead that by 40, they may look rather dastardly. So, I guess I better start taking care of these things better before I really let them go because time can fly!

I'm 32 and I feel like a guy half my age,16 with a lot of energy when I walk a lot,eat Subway often,drink plenty of water and my horomones are just kicking in like teenager. ;D

Maturity-wise: 50 or so
Really it depends on certain things. I think I look at the world and communicate older than I am, but my personality is still kid-like in a way. I think I'm pretty well-rounded. I can talk with a 40 year old and not think they're "old" or that they're just a little bit ahead of me, but I don't feel disattached or old around, say a 15 year old either (well, unless I end up mentioning something I remember from 1987 and they go "What?", lol ;) ).

Yeah, I find that the "older feeling" side of me comes out in times of responsiblity or emotion, too.
I will say, one thing that used to bug me about my peers (sometimes still does, in a limited extent) was their inability to look beyond where they were. Like if I heard another 13 year old in 1994 call someone in their 30s "old" I thought that was really stupid/immature. Then I felt older myself.

One thing about my age is that, if I browse at a store like Forever 21 (which really caters to girls younger than 21), I feel kinda old because these girls are trying SO hard to be hip and buy these clothes that will not be enduring to their look 10-15 years from now. I guess I try to dress in ways that are not revealing to be younger than I am because I already look younger than I really am... so I don't need to emphasize it. ;D

I don't get it ??? I'm 50, I've lived 50 years. how old am I supposed to feel? I guess I should feel younger because my sweet lovely hairstylist told me if I let her cut my hair short, I'd look younger. She didn't say I'd feel younger. I think I'll ask her about that next time. 8)

I certainly don't feel like (nearly) 40 - more like in my twenties, I'd say. But it's getting harder to keep up with these youngsters, ya know...especially when they start calling you "sir". ;)

I'm sure you have a passion still for cricket and can probably still play if given the opportunity. I play with the young guys and still perform or out perform a lot of the youngsters solely because of experience and because I love to play. this is my teams 26th year and only 3 of us remain from the first year in 1980. One is 52, me at 50, the other is 43 and then the rest of the team ranges from 24-44.
I find it hard to believe that I'll be turning 40 later this year. :o

that is so true, and my perspective has changed now that my daughter is growing up, 17 years old, young ones have that daughter'ly look to them, not quite as it used to be.

One thing I'll say about myself:
The parts of me that feel "older" always have (i.e. my communication with people, mature worldview, being quite old-school with preferences), same with the aspects of myself that feel "younger" (i.e. easygoing, almost surfer dudelike personality). I just realized none of this stuff has much changed over the years. Don't get me wrong, I've certainly improved in ways and have become more confident, but it's pretty much a continual string of feeling the same way.
Some people when I've talked to them will invariably say stuff like "well I was still feeling like a little kid when I was 11, but then I became rebellious and started ditching school when I was 15 before really growing up when I was 19, then I settled down with kids and stopped having fun when I was 22", etc. That's what I've never been quite able to relate to. ;D

I always felt a few years younger than I was mentally so I am 23 mentally but physically I look 20 or 21. My real age is actually 27.
