My favorite Halloween song is "The Cockroach That Ate Cincinatti" next to "Thriller"

I guess Thriller, but I don't know if it's a Halloween song.

My favourite has to be "Nightmare" by Chantal Condor

I also like "Thriller" by Wacko Jacko, "Rock Myself to Sleep" by April Wine (the version by Starship is also good), and "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo

My favorite still has to be Bobby "Boris" Pickett: The Monster Mash.
There is a follow-up to "Monster Mash," but it's no good.  Most novelty song follow-ups don't work.

My Halloween songs:
Siouxsie & The Banshees: Halloween
Ministry: Every Day is Halloween
A Flock of Seagulls: Nightmares
Severed Heads: All Saints Day
Bauhaus: Lilies and Remans (or Bela Lugosi's Dead)
Shriekback: Nemesis
Skinny Puppy: The Choke (or Shadow Cast)
The Legendary Pink Dots: The Death of Jack the Ripper (or Femme Mirage)
Book of Love: Witchcraft
The Cure: Lullaby (or Fear of Ghosts)
Laurie Anderson: The Ouija Board
Tom Waits: November (or What's He Building?)
Robert Ashley: Automatic Writing

My favorite Halloween song is "The Cockroach That Ate Cincinatti" next to "Thriller"

There was a sequel to "The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati" called "The Cockroach That Ate Tijuana". both by Rose & The Arrangement. I like both of the songs.

Some that I like:

"The Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett, (there is a parody of the song called "The Monster Hash" done by the Toyes.)
"With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm" by Stanley Holloway (about Anne Boleyn's ghost)
"Carman Miranda's Ghost" by Leslie Fish
"Comin' Back For More" by C.W. McCall (yes, of "Convoy" fame-about Al Packer)
"Warewolves of London" by Warren Zevon

There are more.

Monster Mash, Grimley Fiendish by The Damned and there's a song called Digging That Grave, no idea who it's by but the chorus goes 'there's a head rolling round this town, knocking everybody down, digging that grave'

I think alot of plainly scary songs that have a creepy/dark, or horror-related theme can get lumped into being "Halloween songs". I guess the main difference is if it's actually about monsters or the holiday itself, but they both kinda fit in. That said, here's a few I like:

"A Nightmare on My Street" - Will Smith/DJ Jazzy Jeff
"The Old Man Down the Road" - John Fogerty (this one might really be pushing it, lol)
"Feed My Frankenstein" - Alice Cooper
"Ghostbusters" - Ray Parker Jr
"Monsta' Rap" - Elvira
"Doing it All For My Baby" - Huey Lewis (for the video, which contradicts the happy vibe of the song)
"Everlasting Love" - Howard Jones (see above)
"Thriller"
"Wanted Dead or Alive" - Bon Jovi (sort of an old west/Halloween mix, lol)
"Monster Mash"
"Stranger in Town" - Toto
"Spellbound" - Paula Abdul (spells = witchcraft...it kinda fits I guess ;) )
"Torture" - The Jacksons
"Enter Sandman" - Metallica
"Nature Trail to Hell" - Weird Al (it's about a fictional slasher movie)

You guys just saved me.  the band was hired to play a halloween party and we had to think of songs appropriate to the holiday.  Here they are, in list form!!!

Thanks.
I like to sing Spooky by Santana when the holiday rolls around.

^Wasn't that by Classics IV originally, even if lots of people have covered it? I know it's a late '60s song, but I heard it alot when I was younger, so I grew up with it in a secondhand sense.

P.S. Speaking of Halloween, one of my favorite things was when VH1 had Elvira doing a special edition of the Top 21 Countdown in 1991. It was all scary videos, mixed in with her narration and a few horror movie clips. I taped it, but ended up accidentally erasing it by the mid '90s, which I'm really p*ssed at myself for, lol. Has anybody ever seen it? I'd love to get another copy someday, or at least have my memory refreshed on some of it. ;)
