Subject: A New Year Is Coming--

Written By: MLB on 12/21/06 at 11:55 pm

Thought we could use a new space to chat about what "you" are looking forward to, GOALS or things that still bother/worry "you" as the year changes.

With 2007 (Western) Quickly approaching is anyone else wondering/worrying about what they eat in a day?
I am amazed at my daily intake of less than wholesome items; food and soda in my case.  :-\\ However, I'm choosing to buy and eat much of it so it's not as if I do not have choices when at the market.  Keeping a food log puts it all into perspective.
I also am facing another year with a few less family members,  :\'(which is not easy, but we have gained one very special little someone and she is an angel.  The sweetest baby anyone could ever be blessed to have: my niece who is having her first Christmas at 8 1/2 months old.  :)

2007 will be different as my 17 year old daughter will turn 18  :o  need I say more????  but she'll also be graduating high school and going off to college somewhere and mt heart will be broken when she leaves home. then the Beatles song from Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band  "She's leaving Home" is gonna tear me up every time I hear it.  :\'(

I sympathize ^.  We have a few songs here that get us crying  :\'( when we remember our mother liked the tune.
My sister's 18 and I'm 32, big age difference but it certainly doesn't make it any more of a trying time in a family when they aren't kids and they think they are adults but they still need help and guidance, motivation now n again..

I totally understand with you.

But, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was released on June 1, 1967 in the United Kingdom and on June 2, 1967 in the United States. So that means it was forty years ago that day that twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play.

Well Chris and I have decided to really get serious about getting in shape. We are cutting out all junk food (not really a problem in my case)....and we are going to exercise on a daily basis. We both have clothes in our closet that we would like to get back into. ;D

Also....in the fall of 2007, Vaughn will be starting kindergarten and I will be going back to work and hopefully finishing my degree. It's going to be a year of change....but hopefully for the good! :)

Well I may not have a job after 17 years in the same place so that's very worrying, I find out in march whats going to happen. Up until then I'm just trying to stay positive. Other than that who knows, I have no real plans as such for 2007 I'll just see what unfolds!

I think 2007 will be better than this year.  I'm planning on getting closer to my parents.  At the age of 34 I've decided to get my driver's license next year.  (Yes, you can take that as a warning!!) :)

Don't feel bad!! I'm 32 and have only had my license for 9 months now this December.  I finally had to grit my teeth and just do it. You see all those half-wits who can do it? You can do it too and keep an eye out for all of them in the process too :P

2007 is going to be a test to see how well I can budget my time and money (given that now I'm paying ALL the rent vs. half by living alone).  Fortunately, I've 99% sure I'm getting promoted at work in the first quarter (one of the supervisors gave me an "unofficial congratulations"  8) ).  I'm also going to work on getting in shape and get rid of some (or all) of the gut.  And I've already made a dent in getting the house in order; probably a couple more weekends before I'm totally satisfied with it.  :)

'A New Year, another morning after.'  ;D

I'll do my usual thing this year, move around a bit, be really impulsive and just generally try and be as nice as I am now.

I plan to listen to more metal, drink more beer and not get arrested. That's pretty much what everyone should hope for.

I think my real goals this year will be to achieve a state of comfort in my life so I can really start to lay down some ideas and decide what I actually want to do with myself.
I could stand to lose 20lbs.. but I love beer and cheeseburgers. So I'm gonna say maintain my current plump proportions and just not increase in mass.  ;D
I'll probably try to quit smoking and probably fail. Maybe if I drink more? Does that work?
I think a key thing I ought to try and do is be more patient with people. I try very hard to be easy going.. but sometimes I'll snap at people and be real nasty and bitter. I always feel crappy after I've done that to somebody, so maybe try and get a handle on that.

All in all continue on my path of 'Don't be a prick and people will like you'.

Drinking always made me smoke more...so I rarely drink anymore, and don't smoke either.  Which basically sucks, but I have healthy lungs, I suppose.

Dude.. I have like.. an illegal space heater.  ;D It came from GEC which is a company that makes parts for the like.. submarines and stuff, so you know the spaces are huge. This thing is designed to heat like.. 100 square feet or something. If you have it a room, you'd die. It's so cool, I use it in that like.. garden apartment I built. No,I just want a job no school cause that'll delay me in getting a job by just sitting around in classes all day.Something that'll keep me busy all day 9-5.

Is there no option available to you that would allow you to study and ultimately get a better job, but keep you busy full time and pay you while you learn?  I couldn't have gone to uni if I didn't get a bursary from the NHS.

During my time of being unemployed, I had to attend two courses at College, and I enjoyed every moment.

Me too.  I went back to college to do an access course, then on to uni, and it has truly changed my life.  I'm a different woman.

That's a bit of a scary statement to make, Howard.  It's nice that you want her to be with you.....for some unknown reason, you love her.  But if she doesn't want to be with you, you can't MAKE her date you and you can't make her not date anyone else.  That sounds like what those obsessive boyfriends say; "If I can't have you, no one will."

I guess I'm slightly worried about the both of our futures, that's all.Don't want to feel possessive or obsessive,I guess I've been smothering her lately. We both should have a little freedom until we get ourselves situated.
