Assuming time machines were real and you could go into the past, would you rather it be the current "you" from 2007 being in a previous year (ala Back To the Future)? Or would you want to actually relive something in your younger body but with your current knowledge, like Ashton Kutcher did in The Butterfly Effect? Or something else entirely?

I'd pick #1 just because I know it the best. ;D

I guess I would like to go back as myself...so that I could experience things with a better and more mature understanding...although I would still love to relive my childhood...just maybe do somethings differently than before.

I've thought about this before. Probably in the past body, so I could relive it and just fix the bad things... That is, assuming I still contain the knowledge I have now.

I would want to be my younger body with my current knowledge.  This way you can relive some of your old experiences and check out what the past was like with an adults perspective.

If enough time has elapsed, one cool thing about going back as yourself would be that you might be able to really interact with the "you" of then. Of course none of us would really be thinking Hey, this is me from some point in the future, we'd just think at most, that it was somebody who kinda looked and acted like us.

I think the most dangerous thing would be to go back to a time where you're obviously younger and couldn't really pass as yourself, but where you look enough alike that people might figure it out. In other words, if I went back to when I was, like 5, that would be safe because nobody would suspect it. And if I only went back a year or two, I'd look the same, so I could pretend to be myself.

What wouldn't be good is if I went to, say 1996 when I was 14-15 in that "in limbo" period.

I've said this tons of times, but my "nostalgia" period is basically when I was under 14. Like up to 1996. So I'd love to experience previous to that, but I don't know if I'd want to actually be in Elementary School again taking time outs if I made a joke at the wrong time or was tardy. ;D

Oh yeah....I didn't think of it that way.  I have the same problem. ;D

I would want to go back in my younger body to the exact years I grew up in, but with my present knowledge. That way I could still go back to all the old teen hangouts as a teen and not an old fogie!  ;D
