Subject: The Sharper Accent Test

The Sharper Accent Test

I dislike the blog things accent test because it is not sharp enough to detect my local accent (which people fromo Kentucky, LA, and Vancouver have commented on). However I've found such a test that details where each of your reponses come from.

---------------

http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/yankeetest.html

To find out how much Southern blood your speech shows, simply choose the words you use below, then press "Compute My Score!" at the end. alphaDictionary will compute your score and tell you where you're coming from: are y'all speaking Bubbaese or are youse guys Yankee Doodle Dandies? The higher your score, the deeper from the South you are coming. The test is based on research by the Harvard Computer Society enhanced by Dr. Beard's own research here at alphaDictionary.

That is the way in New England, too.  The pajama thing didn't get it right either, that "a" is like the "au" in aunt.

I'm from Indiana, so I'm surprised that I even register as barely.

My grandfather was from Kentucky(near the border to Tennessee), so that would probably explain the slight amount I have.
