Subject: Thinking about a new forum for the site...

I visit a lot of sites like fark, reddit, digg that post links to the most current stories. Usually the comments on these stories are not worth reading because the people that comment on those sites are about as intelligent as a rock. So rather waste energy there, I was thinking of a board for posting current stories that aren't political, but just unusual or funny.

i had an idea for a "good news" thread. like, the china air plane that blew up but no one was hurt, or when missing people turn up and they're okay, or something i saw the other day about a drowning baby getting rescued. of course, with there not actually being that much good news, :-\\ there wouldn't be enough traffic for a whole forum, but it would fit nicely in with what you're talking about here...

You mean something like The Darwin Awards or "Man Accused Of Running Moldy Beef Jerky Scam"? I thought we did that in the 2000s section. Of course if you want to have a section just for that, It is fine by me.

I like the idea of an interesting events section... we get a lot of threads like that both here and in the 2000s board, though.. I'd like to see the idea tried out, it'd be cool to have one place to go for a quick laugh at a funny, real-life story..

Stuff like that is why I got a DVR from my cable company. With the ability to record two programs at the same time, and a third box upstairs to watch live TV, there would have to be four programs on at the same time that I want to watch before there's an issue with missing something.
