I've never been able to keep all these things straight in my head... imagine if I referred to someone from Ireland as British

I'm with you  ..... I was born there ..... and I find it confusing. I actually thought Britain was snynonymous with England only  :-[  .... and that Great Britain was used to refer to the whole island.  Your link has informed me ! That diagram is illuminating !  8)

I could do with sending this to Elizabeth's teacher I think.  He doesn't appear to know that wales is a separate entity

For Ireland, Scotland and Wales do have their own parliaments, that may cause the confusion?

So basicly everyone lives in The United Kingdom,except for The Irish,who do not live in Northern Ireland? But everyone is part of The British Isles?

For Ireland, Scotland and Wales do have their own parliaments, that may cause the confusion?


As part of European geography they were learning countries and major cities.  For England London and Cardiff were on the list.
