it's the stuff of Stephen King novels. I have had "Captain Trips" (see The Stand) for four weeks now.

Eugh! Like the ectoplasm in Ghostbusters 2? ;D I hope you've finally kicked it to the kerb.
I put other. I haven't had full blown flu but I get the odd 24 hour thing occassionally. It's understandable where I work.

dude. i left work sick on feb. 6th.
i am still sneezing and coughing. slime everywhere! I word around kids so i can never escape it.

Sorry to hear you are still sneezing and coughing, I didn't know.
Yeah, you've got to keep your Vitamin C intake high when you are working around kids.

I'm slowly recovering from the cold from hades. There were 2 days when I'm sure my head couldn't have weighed less than 437 lbs. I was taking all that over-the-counter-coma stuff and it was barely taking the edge off. I still have the lingering effects of a sore throat - the thing will not leave!

Had a cold that lasted over 2 weeks and it sucked the big one.

The only thing I've had this year was an intestinal virus, same symptoms as food poisoning.
I don't get the flu but I can give it to others. If I get a sniffle my wife will avoid me because she knows
the flu for her is sure to follow.

If you recall, it took me a long time to shake my flu off last month, and each year it is getting worse.

I haven't gotten it, but I've had something for the past month that has just been irritating me. It's like my body WANTS to get sick (aches, pains, a bit of a sore throat), but it won't commit to the full on cold/flu/whatever. I wish to hell it would though so I wouldn't feel like this. :P
Rice stayed home sick today (Professor got the bug from his kids and I guess passed it around the lab), so there is hope I might get it soon. :D

IMO it is no good having the anit-flu jab for the vaccine is made from the previous years' strain and will be useless on the current strain.

I'm sorry you've been sick for so long Karen and as for me, all I got was a 4 day cold, not too bad and I did nothing but sleep, eat soup and drink hot tea. I've enjoyed a lengthy stint of good health the last couple years.

I had both! yes, sistuh, I feel your pain you poor thing.
I'm sorry you've been sick for so long Karen and as for me, all I got was a 4 day cold, not too bad and I did nothing but sleep, eat soup and drink hot tea. I've enjoyed a lengthy stint of good health the last couple years.

I have discovered that drinking milk, even in tea, aggravates the infection.

That is one reason why I drink my tea black, I have done it now for two years. For the body needs for what milk can give you, I have some ice cream or yoghurt (not too much)
