Subject: How Ya Feelin' & Whatcha Doin' Today ~ thread for September
Written By: nally on 08/31/08 at 11:46 pm
Okay, so it may be a little early over here...but I'm gonna give it a start anyway. After all, it is the new month elsewhere by now. :)
September 1st is Labor Day in the U.S., and I don't have a whole lotta plans for the holiday, except to study for my online class (yes, I am taking one of those to make up a couple units for my math minor). If the sun comes out for a good part of the day, we might think about going to the beach.
So I hope everyone has a great month!

Well...let's see...later today (around 5:30pm)...we will be at a picnic at our friend's house. Other than that...we aren't doing too much.

Well the beginning of fall is upon us. The weather is gorgeous today. It is Labor Day, and it is also the traditional day that leases on apartments renew and thousands of apartment dwellers are moving in and/or moving out. It is also the day when the bulk of the college students return for fall session and in an area like Boston it is a madhouse. It is all so alive! I love New England in the fall :)

I'm doing a lot for my case coming up, following a lawyer's advice and doctor's advice. Right now I could use a little less busyness so I could enjoy the fall. It IS my favorite time of year. :)

today is Labor Day, and for some of us, it means a 3 day weekend. no work today. just having coffee, watering the lawns. The weather is nice outside. we'll be taking Julie back to her dorm later this evening. other than that, we're just gonna relax and kick back all day

It's Labor Day and Pathmark was crowded,Why can't people stay the freak home and do their shopping the day before instead of the last minute? ::)
Even coming home on a holiday schedule the bus was crowded so I had to pay the fare and get on the back of the bus,I felt like a squashed grape. ::)

Well it's the beginning of a new month and everything is starting to get back to normal. Just got word that my brother and his girlfriend are starting a new university course at the end of the month together. Also, I have been roped in to perform some music at a quaint little party on Sunday afternoon.
After a few days where (and people like Brian and Jess can back me up) I've been a little crazy, I finally feel like everything is getting back to normal and that I can finally claim sanity again.

Didn't get a chance to go to the doctor on Saturday for my leg. Weird thing is that it stopped now. Dunno if I should still call up and get an appointment with my doc to tell her what happened, or just let it be.
I need to make bread today. I have decided that store bought bread sucks, so whenever we need bread, I'll just whip up a loaf.

wow! I new my Mom wasn't feeling good yesterday, but she doesn't know if she injured herself or has a disorder or it's some kind of flu.
I got a sour but and couldn't sit down last night without needing to get up and go to the bathroom. I had no blood or vomiting like my mom is describing.
Joel is home today because his stomach hurts.
I think there's some weird flu bugs going around.
I got to go water the backyard weed lawn and the front yard plants this morning.

My cousin's wedding was featured in a special article this weekend about weddings and their hiccups. In this case, the hiccup was a HUGE ONE....my aunt found out she had breast cancer. They changed everything around to make it easier on her and her health, and I will say it was one of the best weddings I have ever attended.
The Elvis impersonator rocked, by the way. :D

I gotta say, I love that they had the faux Sumo wrestlers there too. Wedding receptions are SUPPOSED to be fun and that one should be really memorable!
Congrats to the bride and groom, my best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together. :)

Just two more weeks of this crazy schedule I need to read Gulliver's Travels and a long boring book called Consuelo (678 pages of boring) by Friday. I have a paper due this thursday, another one due next week and then a final on the 10th and my last one the 11th. What the heck am I doing here? I am so far behind! UGH I think I'm having a panic attack...sweaty, shortness of breath and rapid heart rate. I already went and saw the paramedics this morning (seriously it was that bad and I know them from work... my heart rate was at 120 and my BP was 138/88 all high but not heart attack range.... just two more weeks I can make it right.

I'd suggest the same for you but it's probably not a good idea to move during the surgery. will you have to be awake for it? that always freaks me out when people are awake while being operated on.

Whose getting married then?
This is to try to get Vermont to legalize same-sex marriages.
The person we sat with was great. And she was another heterosexual. After our time was up, we walked around the fair and I had the great pleasure of running into my niece. ;D ;D ;D And we are hoping that some day she can married her partner who she just got Civil Unioned (C.U.ed) to. As I tell everyone, I want to be able to dance at their wedding the same way they danced at ours.
As we were walking along, someone had a bunch of fake bills. She gave me a "million dollar" bill-how cool was that-until she asked, "Do you if you will get into Heaven?" I said, "Probably not." Then she asked, "Are you concerned?" I gave her back her "million dollars" and said, "Nope." and walked away. :D ;D ;D I should have said that she couldn't buy me with her fake money. :D ;D ;D ;D
Then we went to dinner.

I'm sure I will be put to sleep. The doctor found out about the bone when I was put to sleep and he was working on the ear drum. If the doctors in Modesto could have ran all the testing like they were suppose to, I would have known about the bone 3 years ago.

Good job nally and snoz!
As for me, it's amazing what a good nights sleep will do for me. I actually went to bed early (for me) and even though it was terribly hot and humid, I took an Aleve (which usually puts me to sleep) and I slept 6 hours! Ahhhh. Refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not especially energetic even though I have a little less then a month before I move to Pittsburgh. :o I'm hoping to get some form of manic phase and go on a wild cleaning/packing/getting rid of stuff tangent. At least it's supposed to be about 10 degrees cooler today (that helps).

I am drained!
Hubby has been working late all week and will probably be deployed by this time next week.
Thankfully not to Iraq.
They are prepping right now in order to head out for Hurricane Relief - Hanna and Ike.
It is Ike they are worried most about.
He has done this before. He deployed for Hurricane Andrew, so this is nothing new for him.
It's all new for me because I have never seen a Rapid Deployment before. Normally we would get 3-6 months notice, but this notice is about a week and a half. I am good with it though, because I know he is staying on home territory and he is going where he will definitely be needed. My Hero!!!!

Hubby has been working late all week and will probably be deployed by this time next week.
Thankfully not to Iraq.
They are prepping right now in order to head out for Hurricane Relief - Hanna and Ike.

Ack. I was going to say, "AGAIN?!!?!", but I see what you meant. I'm glad he'll be helping out. Those storms are coming in fast and furious, and I'm pretty sure it's going to get ugly in the coming weeks. We're experiencing the ass end of Gustav up here, but it's only rain (a LOT of rain) and some mild winds.

No, he hasn't lost interest... just hasn't had any time.
When we first arrived here, they put him straight to work so he was always tired. Now he is working until 10 sometimes 11 at night, has enough time to come home, grab a quick bite then trundle off to bed in order to be back up and at work by 6:30 the next morning. I'm lucky if I get to see him at lunch! ;)
I'm trying not to complain though, because it could be worse. 8)

We had a party for my mum and dad's 30th anniversary. Dai's mum made a cake with a sugar paste oyster shell with a pearl inside for the top.
Just got back from the UK. It was a bit odd really. We spent a couple of days seeing friends and catching up with people and then it was my mum's funeral on Thursday.
We had a lovely service at the crematorium and loads of people came. Afterwards we went to a local bowls club for the wake and in the evening we all (my dad, Aunty June and my brothers and their families) went out for dinner.

Welcome home, Karen. I'm glad to hear that everything went well. We're still thinking of you. ;)

Because of an idiot co-worker I have to go to work today. I worked yesterday, and if this bozo hadn't been the jerk off he is I would have only had to work one, either yesterday or today, not both. >:(

I feel good. The magic forum I joined moved and I'm trying to help out as much as I can to get it good and started. I love to help helping.
My mom told me I had to buy a new office chair and yes the one I'm setting on has been pretty bad for a while. Anyway she was showing me all the adds and stuff and to ask my brother to take me. I told her I didn't want to and that I was tired of her telling me what to do all the time. She looked like she was getting mad so I asked does that mean I'm lazy or I just am tired and want to become independent some day because I really don't know? After a few minutes she said tell your brother if you want to go anywhere. I need to remember that my mom was raised dysfunctionally too and I think she has regrets for having raised me the way she chose. She has raised me to her ruin, but I don't want to do that. I am reminding myself that to much power is dangerous.

it's ok to feel sad. Is your sadness for the woman in your avatar? I hope that soon you feel better.

ASK.HER.OUT.FOR.COFFEE. Friends can do that too Howard...it doesn't have to be a date. Or ask her if she wants to take a walk sometime...Is there a park near your neighborhood or hers...or work. Maybe you guys can get a drink and go for a walk in the park...it seems to work in all those romantic comedies I watch.
