Gertrude Baines
Gertrude Baines (born April 6, 1894) is an American supercentenarian who, at age 115. years, and 1day, is the oldest living person in the world. This is according to Guiness World Records, since the January 2, 2009 death of Portuguese woman Maria de Jesus. An African American, Baines lives in Los Angeles. Aside from her arthritis and inability to walk, Baines is very healthy and has never had a seriously sick day in her life.

Isn't that cool? To have a life that spans an entire century. I wonder what her earliest memories are.... :o

She is in an hounoured position of being able to she her own name on the Census from a century ago.

That is a remarkable age, but also a scary one. Living that old, you'd always wonder when that time would come :(

She has seen so many changes in her lifetime. I can't even imagine how many.
