So, for no reason other than being bored, I decided to read back on old threads I used to frequent. One was a thread where I tried to predict the future and somebody asked:
I don't know if it's been asked (I'm too lazy to check), but when will inthe00s/inthe10s/inthe20s.etc finally shut down for good?
AND I SAID:

From the looks of it, I was wrong. Right? It's almost the end of 2009, and all is still fine and dandy. But what if I'm right? IS THIS THE END!?
I'll bet you're all on the edge of your seats, biting your fingernails in anticipation.

I could live with inthe2000's and that should cover us until 2099, and then we can change it to inthe2100's and so on.
