The correct term for chop sticks in Japanese is "hashi".  When I eat out Japanese style I always ask for hashi and they always bring them.  That is if they are not already on the table.

What is the diameter of a square?

Do you measure it from one corner to its opposite corner (if so, that would be the diagonal, which is sqrt(2), or 1.414213562... times the length of one of its sides), or do you measure it from the midpoint of one side to that of its opposite side (in which case it would be the exact length of one side)? The answer would, then, be anywhere between s and s*sqrt(2).

Interesting, I've never heard the term, is it "Car boot sale"?  Do you know how it originated?  I am curious. A boot is something that is sometimes put on a car when it is parked illegally.  It locks one of the front wheels so the car can't be moved as it waits to be towed off.

Then for the sake of true advertisment and accuracy they should be called "Outside the garage sale" and all things like lawn ornaments and vehicles should be removed.   ::) ;D

Precisely.

One time I saw a cartoon on tv that featured a garage sale, and the main characters took it literally and asked how much the garage was. They didn't leave until the garage actually got sold to them! :D (It was from Animaniacs, and the name of the episode was 'Garage Sale of the Century', I think. I haven't been able to find it on Youtube.)

When you put a sheet over your head for Halloween, are you a ghost or a mattress?

My first inclination would be to guest "ghost", since it covers your body and conforms to the shape of it. A notable example was illustrated in the movie E.T., when the kids put a sheet over the title character to sneak him out of the house.

Where in the nursery rhyme does it say Humpty Dumpty is an egg?

From wiki:

According to the Oxford English Dictionary the term "humpty dumpty" referred to a drink of brandy boiled with ale in the seventeenth century. The riddle probably exploited, for misdirection, the fact that "humpty dumpty" was also eighteenth-century reduplicative slang for a short and clumsy person.  The riddle may depend on the assumption that, whereas a clumsy person falling off a wall might not be irreparably damaged, an egg would be. The rhyme is no longer posed as a riddle, since the answer is now so well known. Similar riddles have been recorded by folklorists in other languages, such as "Boule Boule" in French, or "Lille Trille" in Swedish and Norwegian; though none is as widely known as Humpty Dumpty is in English.

your funny bone isn't actually a bone at all. Running down the inside part of your elbow is a nerve called the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve lets your brain know about feelings in your fourth and fifth fingers. It's also one of the nerves that controls some movement of your hand.
