This video was created using Vocaloid, a Japanese computer program that is used to make digital voices sing practically any song you put into it. The song is "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago, the Vocaloid singer is Miku Hatsune.

Yes, any song you have an MIDI file for.

You have to buy the software from Yamaha, and sadly, the one in the video is unavailable in America until next year. However, there is a free version of Vocaloid called Utau, but it's in all Japanese.

Indeed it is. I cannot wait til next year so we can get Hatsune Miku's English voicebank. Still, it's pretty amazing how they got a Japanese Vocaloid to sing decent English even without the English voicebank.

You can just type in "any" song and "genre"? Will it recognize it right away? ???

Like I said before, you need an MIDI file (you can find them for free online), which contains a synthesized version of a song (like you'd hear on a keyboard), and you find the track on the MIDI that represents the vocals, and type syllables into each note. Sounds confusing, but it's not that hard.
