Subject: Facebook

Written By: Ripley on 01/04/16 at 10:09 am

A topic not discussed in a long time. I've been really active on there as of late. Not necessarily posting updates but sharing things others post. But I'm curious who all gets on there and how often. I would like to add other 00's members if you're up for it. But I will need your user name as mine is set to private so I have to be the one to request you.

There are two 00s groups on fb. You can view them and see who's on fb.

I'm there daily and visit fb more than I do the 00ze.  The best thing about fb is all the members who left here are on fb so I still get to interact with them daily. And is probably why I'm more active over there.

I joined FB in 2009, although in retrospect I wish I'd joined at least a year or two earlier... but I had no interest in social media until then. And yes, we do have two groups on there for members of this site, and I am in both of them. :)

Overall I find it to be a great tool to keep in touch with people I've known in my life. Including family.

Q (snozberries) is right. There are a lot of current and former 00zers on FB with 2 groups.

If you join one or both of those groups, you can even find out what AL-B stands for!  :D

I find Facebook usual to communicate with family members the other side of the world.

Ugh. Looking at how much stupid, awful political BS there's been on Facebook lately, it might as well be called Hatebook.  8-P

Facebook is where I go to catch up with all the latest conspiracy theories. It's like a modern History Channel.

FB is ridiculous.I am a member of various crochet groups on FB and even in these groups, people get offended, flouncing, arguing and fighting. One blowup just happened today.

In. A. Crochet. Group.

Wait, what?

Example today: Woman posts pic of crocheting while nursing. Feud ensues over the pic. Anti-nursing pic group: "We're offended! This is PORNOGRAPHY!" Pro-nursing pic group: "We're offended that you're offended! This is NATURE." Me: "Yeah, um, so what size hook did you use for that?"

;D ;D ;D

I stay away from most groups... mostly I belong to groups started by people I already know...

We have a Walking Dead Fan Group and a Walk so we don't become Dead (aka the 500 miles a year) walking group  ;D

I also belong to a group of people supporting Juliet Landau's documentary. She has some interesting (and slightly crazy) fans

Once I dropped Quirk/Erin as a fb friend my fb feed became less hateful  ;D

Aside from Reynolds (kathie), a few professors I know, and one particularly opinionated comedian political posts my fb is relatively politics free.... well unless you count all the Donald trump hate posts (which I revel in anyway).

I did find I have one friend who is a DT supporter which I found more disturbing than  anything anyone else has posted in years

I don't use Facebook that much compared to the early 2010s (yes, I used FB when I was under 13). It's pretty boring now, and I don't want to use it since my whole family have Facebook accounts.

What often bothers me is when someone disconnects me; it's times like those when I wish FB gave me a notification saying, "so&so deleted you"...and when it's someone I'm on good terms with, who's a really friendly person, I'll wanna know why they got rid of me. :-[

Why would someone delete you? You're so nice!

I agree about that delete notification, so we won't have to look in our friends section trying to figure out who deleted us.

Sometimes people delete me because I haven't spoken to them in like eight years or something.

I keep all, for who knows, I may need them in the future with an emergency.

Or in some cases at least two years... but that doesn't mean that they should cut off ties with us. :-\\

yes...and for the record I have never unfriended anyone, except once (only because I accidentally accepted a friend request for a person whose name was familiar to me, but I found out it wasn't actually that person).
