Is it a very long distance from Cumberland to Providence?

Are the two places in different states?

From what I see on the map, yes they are. Cumberland is in Maryland, whereas Providence is in Rhode Island. The two states are kinda far apart, even though they are small in terms of area.

Anyway I have to remember to turn my clocks back before I go to sleep tonight (that is, those which require manual adjustment). It's the end of Daylight Saving Time in most of the U.S.

We only get about 4 months then we return in March of 2018 to turn the clocks forward again.

Remember, remember!
    The fifth of November,
    The Gunpowder treason and plot;
    I know of no reason
    Why the Gunpowder treason
    Should ever be forgot!
    Guy Fawkes and his companions
    Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
    All up alive.
    Threescore barrels, laid below,
    To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
    A stick and a stake
    For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
    I'll take two,
    The better for me,
    And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
    Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!

Thanks guys. I am sure that the process will likely take a few days. I forget how long my parents' results took to process; it was a while ago.

I was originally going to do it in September...but then I suddenly got sick, and I wanted to make sure I was well before doing it; that way I get accurate results.

Second week in November always means the fair is in town. I believe it is the oldest fair in the country.

Dai and I walked around the fair last night while James was at karate.  We had a ride on the carousel and the dodgems, then went to a pub for a drink.

Yes, although our fair is still set up in the town centre/market place. A couple of roads are closed/re-routed for a few days.

Today was the Remembrance Sunday parade in town.  James marched with his Explorer Scout group as a flag escort and he was chosen to lay a wreath at the war memorial on behalf of the Scouts.  I went along to the service.  It is held in a town centre park around the war memorial which is a huge tower.

I wanted to attend a local Remembrance Sunday parade, but my eyes let me down, and it is very cold outside, but I did manage to watch on television the coverage from the Cenotaph in Whitheall.

Well it's good that you were able to get it done early, that way you avoid the madness... but I haven't even started on mine yet. (Oh wait, actually I did buy two items that I'm going to give as gifts... but I still need to get something more. But then again this year I don't have very many people to shop for.) However, my mom's birthday is this Tuesday and I don't have a birthday gift for her yet (but I have gotten her a card).

As for holiday cards, I still have yet to make a list of people to send them to, and I hope to get started on writing them by the first of December.

Well, I didn't finish the sequel to my first book like several of them had requested. I tried but it just didn't work out. It WILL be done for next year. I figured I should have something special for them this year. The calendar should be fairly easy to make and I'm sure I can finish it in time. I have decided to include Carlos' ex & her husband. Since this will be for the kids and they are part of the kids' lives, I thought it would be nice to include them. Now, I just have to find out when their birthday's are. We will be seeing them on Thursday so I am going to ask. I'm also going to include my step-son's ex because she is his kids' mother. I should also include my step-daughter's ex for the same reason.

So far of the flutterbies in my area, seem to like pansies.  If I do a vegetable, Ill do sweet peas because they flower ans will look great with the pansies.

It's kinda hard shopping for him lol. But I think I have an idea what to get him. He already knows what to get me.  :)

Awww, that was nice. :) Wish you could send some rain across the country here, it is about 20+ degrees too warm for this time of year.

I actually did some of my shopping earlier this month for my mom, but I will have a little more to do, hopefully I will get it done before the middle of next month.

Think I saw a humming bird fly to a tree our neighbors have.  I ought to put out a humming bird feeder in case it gets nectar hungry.

I never fed them, since I've never had any reason to buy bird feed. Often times we don't get too many of them coming near our home anyways.

So today I finally took the Ancestry DNA test, and mailed back the completed kit. Can't wait to find out my results!

Good Luck.

Thanks guys. I am sure that the process will likely take a few days. I forget how long my parents' results took to process; it was a while ago.

I was originally going to do it in September...but then I suddenly got sick, and I wanted to make sure I was well before doing it; that way I get accurate results.

So, after two weeks, my results are finally in! Turns out, I have half UK ancestry and the rest is mixed mostly with various European nations. Guess I didn't have as much Italian DNA as I originally thought!

All night long  do do do do do do do do

yes listened to a LOT of music,  ^ one the most because of the instruments I can now finally hear.

when I started hamend I was looking at songs I can do for a video, but another reason I might scroll and hunt through my hundreds of parodies is for clever and funny little ideas.  So I found about 8 of those to add to hamend.  hamend will become my top 20 some parodies and I probably won't be looking at Ann Hammond any more.  I'd probably start a new thing if I come up with new writes.

So today I managed to make a job application for a temporary position that is geographically close to me. It was an accounting job. I met all the qualifications listed; in fact it indicated that most of the work will involve QuickBooks, which I use all the time in my current part-time job. So now I will await a response; there may be other applicants. (And if I do ultimately get accepted, and it's part time, maybe I can work it on the days I am not at my current job site.)

oh, I enjoy having it! It is motivating me to get up and walk around a lot more frequently, so that I can get myself into good shape. The most steps I've achieved in one day is 18,175 (which occurred last month while my family and I were in San Francisco; we did LOTS of walking around there).

On a rather dismal note... my mom accidently lost hers last week; apparently it snapped off her wrist (while she was out somewhere) and didn't realize it was missing until she got home. :( So she ordered a new one, which is due to arrive at the house by the end of this week.

So we bought an indoor variety of a star fruit tree back in May. It came complete with blossoms so we thought that we would get some fruit-even if it was only one or two. We transplanted it into a pot with Miracle Grow soil. Then the leaves started to turn yellow and fell off. The blossoms shriveled up and also fell off. We wrote to the company we bought it from and asked them what we were doing wrong. They told us to transplant it into a SMALLER clay pot (rather than a plastic one we had it in) with other soil. Miracle Grow has way too much fertilizer in it to the tree's liking. So, we did and it started to grow again. It was pretty full with leaves and I was waiting for the blossoms to come out. But then, the leaves started to turn yellow again and started falling off. There was barely anything left on it. I was about ready to purchase another one and try it ONE MORE TIME. But, then we noticed little leaves starting to come out. And then more leaves. There are some branches that do look dead but every day we are seeing more and more growth on it. We now refer to it as our "zombie tree" because when it seemed like it was dead, it came back to life-TWICE! Keep your fingers crossed that it continues to grow and maybe we can have some fruit on it in a few months.
