I can still remember the scent from the plastic Halloween masks I use to have as a kid. Anyone remember them?

Anyway, we don't celebrate Halloween anymore.  :)

Same with me. This year it'll be 25 years since I last wore a Halloween costume. At that time, I was 13 and felt I was starting to outgrow it. Therefore, I've had no interest in wearing a costume since then.

costumes are a waste of money.  Just wear something different

Most of them are, yes.

On at least one occasion when I was a kid, we actually made a costume with what we had. For example, when I was 8 I decided to be an alarm clock; we took a large cardboard box and drew a clock face on it, and attached movable hands.

I not too long ago made myself a jester hat.  It was a lot cheaper and better looking then all the Mari Gras  stuff that is out these days

I remember putting on makeup when I went trick or treating.

I remember putting on makeup when I went trick or treating.

I did wear some the first two times I wore a costume, namely at ages 5 and 6, when I was a clown.

If we go to the parkrun this Saturday we are supposed to dress up for Hallowe'en. I might just wear the leggings I have that are decorated with skeletons and my morris dance t-shirt which has two dancing skeletons depicted on it.

At work next week I shall just wear some earrings. I have four pairs of Hallowe'en themed -skeletons, ghosts, pumpkin lanterns and some new 'day of the dead' decorated skulls.

Only one reply to this thread has been worth reading.

To the rest of you, if you don't like wearing Halloween costumes, you probably don't even need to reply.  Right?  Go play your song title games.  I'm sorry none of you get invited to Halloween parties.  ::) ;D

Also, those who have decided that I am too annoying to interact with need not reply to any threads I start.

One difference we noticed when we lived in the US is that kids just dressed up as anything (Hawaiian hula dancers, Elvis, a pair of flip-flops) whereas in the UK we would always dress as something related to Hallowe'en or ghosts/horror films such as a witch, black cat, Frankenstein's monster or similar.

Probably my best costume was as a pumpkin lantern
