Got our outdoor lights hung this morning. We figured we'd do that before any potential rain started (and it hasn't arrived yet).

Took my dad to the hospital on Wednesday for an operation that the consultant decided not to do shortly before my dad went to theatre.  they've decided to just tweak his heart medication instead

On Friday night I went with Dai to see Australian Pink Floyd, as a birthday gift for him.

Went to the nearest city yesterday to do some Christmas shopping.  We've got some more to buy for the children, but they need to try on chinos, etc. I also bought tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters in March. My dad has been saying how much he'd like to see them, and the last time we came we only heard a day or so before and it was sold out.

Glad your dad is doing better.

Happy Birthday to Dai.

I saw the Globetrotters WAY back in the dark ages (in the '70s). This was when Meadowlark Lemon & Curly Neil played with them. It was birthday present.

Right around that time, my office will finally get a new person (to replace the coworker who retired in early October).

By the way, speaking of people who formerly worked in my office, there was a woman who retired from the company in September of last year (her retirement was planned); I happened to see her at the library when I was there this past Saturday! :) She is still in touch with my boss, and was happy to hear that I'm still working at the office, and that things are going well overall.

Anyways, today is not a work day for me, so I took the time to go get a haircut (I was overdue for one, since it was 3 1/2 months since I last got it done); then I did a little shopping before coming back home.

Well... the new person has been hired, and today was his first day! (Actually, he spent most of the workday filling out paperwork and stuff.) We all introduced ourselves and got him acquainted with the company and the procedures and stuff. His title is Admin Assistant.

So, today was a good day at the office. :)

When I got to work this morning, I couldn't get connected to the server on our network at the office, so I had to spend an hour on the phone with technical support; they eventually got me up and running. Yesterday (Friday) morning our house guest came over and spent the day with us. However, I had to go to work in the morning, but when I got home, we spent time with him together...which is why I couldn't be here for much of the day. We showed him plenty of family pictures (we had made some slideshow DVDs several years ago), had some dinner, sat around and had some great conversations... and this morning he left, to go join his family.

had a talk with mom and even better with dad.  Jesus may have been a person long before I was born,  Jesus weather a sun of a father or not is God's gift to us to choose if we want to accept Him.  To me it makes more since to thank God for allowing us to choose Him then to warship another being that may or may have not been around in the past.  I find it misleading.

Last night my family & I had a couple of church services to prepare for, one at 6pm and the other at midnight. So we were busy with that. (My parents are church musicians, and I help out in a couple of different ministries myself.) And when we got home just before 2 this morning, we were ready for sleeping.

Yesterday I wasn't on here for very long because (1) I was working and (2) we had to prepare the house for a party in the evening. We invited many different people, mostly from church, to come over and play some games with us; about ten people showed up. That was enough for the games that we ended up playing. We all had a great time.
