Subject: Need Lyrics To "Dancing Shoes"
Can someone find me the lyrics to the 80s song "Dancing Shoes". The popular version was by Nigel Olsen (the former drummer with Elton John's band). But the version I remember was by the Indianapolis group called Faith Band.

Sorry, Bobo, but neither of these is the "Dancing Shoes" I remember". The Nigel Olson version goes "Put on your dancing shoes. Throw out those worn out blues. Here is to love and a chance for a spin on that wheel of romance".

I have looked EVERYWHERE! can't get the lyrics. I don't know if it will help, but the person ho wrote it Was Terence Boylan. He released a retrospective CD including the song you are looking for. I have checked his site and others, but I don't know many lyrics pages. good luck.

Both Nigel Olsson's and Faith Band's versions of "Dancin' Shoes" climbed the pop chart simultaneously here in the U.S. in the Winter of '79. While it's true that Olsson's fared better, Faith Band's was a moderate hit as well. And for the record, the songwriter was actually Carl Storie (unless that was an alias used by Mr. Boylan)...
The lyrics for "Dancin' Shoes" do seem to be elusive here on the internet. I do have Olsson's 1979 album, Nigel, on cassette, which of course includes his version (along w/ a K-tel compilation or two that also has it). Unfortunately, I don't have Faith Band's version on any album. Most of my music collection is boxed up at the moment. When I find one of my cassettes w/ the Olsson version, I'll transcribe it for you, if you still need it... :)

That was Carl Storie who wrote "Dancing Shoes" and was the lead singer for Faith Band. He remade it during "Live Day" on The Bob and Tom Show, circa 1989 .
