Subject: Blackbird?

All right, i was reading some of the Stupid Band Names, and I came across this one.

SR71
When you look at the name, you actually have to LOOK at it first to see if it spells anything, then after you realize it doesn't you are left with wondering what exactly it means... it reminds me of an identification card for an elderly person.

All right, so let's assume we can rule out the whole identification card thing.. What is it about?  The only thing I could think of, having (embarrassingly enough) only heard of the band within the last week, was the SR71 Blackbird, a military plane.. As for the band though?  I have noooo clue what they meant when they named it that, if anything. Got any idea, folks?

I've always assumed they've simply been fans of the now-defunkt spy plane...

...what makes you think the SR71 is defunct?  It's still the fastest manned plane in the sky... at least as the SR71a (though I'm not sure what's the difference with the "a")

I'm glad you like the site. Hope to be hearing a lot more from you in the future... back on topic now, I looked up SR71 on the internet and all I could find was the plane. I'll keep looking for other things it could be too, jic.
