I've been looking for this for a while....
It came out in the 80s I think, and was sung by a woman. It starts off
"There she stands, looking out to sea
Waiting for her first love, waiting for him"
then something about "looking back on her sweet memories"
then the chorus "Wait waaaiiittt"..."promised too many years from now"
Anyone have any clues?

was it anything but the girl or something. I faintly remembr them, but i was too old! she had black hair and an oversized jaw. there was a video of her looking wistfully out to sea, which sort of fits. matybe I was just pissed and imagined it. ???

Yep, that video clip sounds right! It wasn't Anything But the Girl though. At least someone else vaguely remembers the song, and I'M not going mad!! ... ;)
