Can someone help me remember this song?  Lyrics and artist?  I can hear the tune in my head but all I can remember is ....
Diamond Girl.....

The song is from "Seals and Crofts" and was done in the early 1970's.  I've always thought the lyrics to this song are absolutely CLASSIC.  8)

Diamond Girl, you sure do shine.
Glad I found you, glad you're mine.
Oh my love, you're like a precious stone,
part of earth where heaven has rained on.
Makes no difference where you are.
Day or nighttime, you're like a shinin' star.
And how could I shine without you,
when it's about you that I am?

Diamond Girl, roamin' wild. Such a rarely radiant child.
I could never find, another one like you.
Part of me is deep down inside you.
Can't you feel the whole world a-turin'.
We are real, and we are a-burnin'.
Diamond Girl, now that I've found you,
it's about you that I am

If you're not referring to the huge hit from the Summer of '73 by Seals & Crofts, then you're most likely thinking of the song "Diamond Girl" by the r&b group Nice 'n' Wild, which was a big freestyle dance hit here in the U.S. in 1987. (It failed to cross over to the pop chart.) Link below to the song's lyrics...
