Subject: Hero - Spider-Man: misheard?

Written By: calbuq on 09/22/02 at 00:19 a.m.

Just a couple of issues with the 3 opening lines:

1) I'm pretty sure the guy sings "I *could* hear heaven" instead of "I *can* hear heaven" in the first 2 lines, although the last form is the one you'll find more commonly on the Web.

2) About the 3rd line, I've found both "no heaven *don't hear* me" and "no heaven *dawned in* me" on the Internet.  I've just heard it several times and I'm still completely unsure about which one is the correct version. Grammatically, the second form makes more sense (the first one is flat out wrong). But then again, grammar was never a strong bone in rock lyrics, and the first one somehow seems to be a bit more connected with the song. Any thoughts on that?

I believe that "I can hear heaven" and "no heaven don't hear me" are the correct parts.
