Well, um, I guess I have to make a speech....This is a true honor to win this award...If I remember correctly, Keith and I put the first Mcdonalds parody on this site, and it caused a snowball effect, and now there are like 50 Mcdonalds parodies on this site...When we wrote this parody, we had no clue that it would eventully win this award....Ok, so now I have to say the people I thank...I must first thank Junior for finally posting the results after I had bugged him with posts for the past 2 months ;)  ...I must thank Keith Kamer, For his excellent co-writter ability, I probably could have done it without him (its just that we thought up the idea together, lol, jk, I couldnt have done it without him)....I must thank Chuck, for without him, this site wouldnt exist...I must thank all the other everyone who voted for this parody...thank you all!!!!!!!!, um...Im trying not to turn this speech into something Bono would go ranting about, or Halle Berry for that matter....um, thank you all, and congrats to all the other winners.......

On behalf of Keith Kamer I accept his award because he was unable to attend tonight, lol.....

Now, On the fact that I didnt win "best parody artist"...Congrats STG, I would have voted for you if I wasnt nominated, lol...even though I didnt win, I must say that it was an honor just to be nominated....bull, I wanted to win! LoL.....now I have to change that message at the bottom of my post thing, what ever the hell its called....lol

but serriously, I cant believe I won, thank you all that voted, and congrats to all others that won

I'll give my polite golf clap for Chris and the 3.14159 song  :)  As a parody writer and a math geek, this has always been one of my favorites, ever since there were only like ten songs on the site!

Junior, thanks for doing all that work...all great parodies in there!

that song predates amiright by about 4 years.. I think he emailed it to me for use on inthe80s (before it was inthe80s, ChuckyG's 80s Music Page (man that was an awful site name)).. back in oh, 1996 or 1997.. so it's been kicking around awhile..

I am honored that "Osama Got Run Over by a Reindeer" won two awards.  I would like to thank whoever's responsible.  ;D

I should also add, that without that parody, amiright would have just been a misheard lyrics site.. since it was the reason I split the site into two sections.. (and 30 or something different subjects, who knows how many?).. it encouraged others to send in parodies to inthe80s, and gave me the motivation to try and setup the parody section, which I thought would get like 2 or 3 submissions a week..

I think that's when I first saw the site, when it was an 80s site.  There was definitely no voting yet.  I sent in "I've Got To Pee Now" back then, was happy it was out there on the web, then forgot about the site for about 2 or 3 years.  I was pretty surprised when I found it again, saw the voting stuff, and hundreds more parodies!

yup.. that was another of the "founder" parodies from inthe80s..

here's a snapshot from 1999... too bad my old ISP prevents caching of their pages, the archive would probably show them if it did..

I am shocked.
I thought William Tong would get best parody artist. I have to thank everyone. There are some many people to thank.

William Tong, for making me strive to make as many parodies.

Florio Brothers (Bill and Mike)--they're just kewl guys

DarkJon64- We argued when we first met, but without him I wouldn't be in certain subjects.

Junior- He has also been pretty good just like DJ

Xander- When I first met him he was weird, but then I realized that he is just like me, a parody artist

EVERYONE WHO VOTED- Thank you, if I excluded you, I didn't mean to.
Thank you

From S.T.G.

My thoughts on all this:

S.T.G -- you the man. You deserve 6 wins.

William Tong, My Name Is Kenny, Lebeiw, & Tone-Def, as well as some others -- You all definitely deserved a couple more nominations & awards.

I did have the second most # of wins in the awards (it's an honor :-)), but it's mostly because of my associations with other artists. S.T.G & DJ are great artists, loved working with them on "Road Trip" -- Lebeiw deserves major props on "amIright", he definitely was a bigger part of the parody than I, when he submitted it he put "Lebeiw15 & Junior", but it should be "Lebeiw15 (featuring Junior)" , he definitely deserves the headline :D -- my brother (Mamoo) deserves more credit for "Foodylicious", it was really a team effort there.

Much needed kudos & props and all that good stuff (lol) to crazydon & Chris Pythila, as well as other artists I mentioned above! Heck, all of you need a round of applause! ;D

I can always hope for some nominations for next year. Congrats to all the winners, I agree with most of the winners in the categories, with a few exceptions, but I'll keep those to myself.  Good job!

how did syncronos come out empty handed?? he's my favorite guy on the site, freshman rhapsody is one of the funniest parodies i've ever read

I think the voting took place before synchronos started posting here. Almost certain nominations were a long time ago. If the nominations were now maybe i would´ve had a chance too for something

yup.. I believe most of the voting topics were held in late July or August.. Syncronos has only been posting a month or so now...

I think we should hold elections again in January.. twice yearly.. maybe by then I can think of a way to help automate things a bit.. so I could get the nominations and then post the voting topic with links to all the relevant parodies on the site.. it might help increase the amount of votes received, and thus result in a wider sample..

Maybe I should hold a monthly voting topic? hmmm... I'm getting an idea here.. maybe I could pick a topic, and allow parody authors to submit their best contribution (once it's been posted to the site) for consideration. Then, I would post the newly created voting topic on the site, and let people cast their votes.. maybe I should maintain voting by email to try and cut down on voter fraud?

I was going to do something like that, but I was thinking of new categories.. but maybe a monthly voting contest would be more interesting, and minimize the size of the page, so every parody author who entered would get equal billing on what they considered their best work? yeah.. I think I like this idea..

Yes, nominations began a LONG time ago...at the next ceremony, I think artists like Lebeiw, Tong, S.T.G, the Florios, DJ, My name is Kenny, and many of the artists on the 25+ list will have quite a few nominations.

This would be a great way to end the month, or every couple of months.  I really like the ideas posted, and I think that whomever decides on the nominees will have a tough job!!

8)You neeed a separate category for the 50s--it's silly to lump 50s music with the 60s.eparate Everly brothers category would be workable,too--they were very prolific and pretty easy targets for parody,as well.Cheers!

I don't think separate categories for any artists would work, except seeing what all The Beatles' parodies are like together, which songs were targeted to be parodied... that would be interesting. Mind you, I could always search, hehe.
