Subject: Mystery of the missing song lyrics - Contest

Written By: DarkJon64 on 10/13/02 at 11:26 a.m.

First one to figure this out will win something. Maybe I'll write a parody about them. I wish it could be somethin better, cause I've been looking for this for about 6 months now:

"There's no sex on TV" (may be not quite the same, but similar).

I have an idea that it was a 'popular' rock/alternative song from less than a year ago, but that could be wrong. I've called many radio DJ's, all who recognized the lyric but could not place it in a song. One said it was tool, but I havent found a tool song like that by them. Sounds familiar though, doesnt it? And its not the Family Guy theme song (violence in movies, and sex on TV).

Anyway, good luck.

Reminds me of the Chris Rock song/comedy bit "There is no sex in the champagne room".

It does sound familiar though.  Not sure why.  Now I am dying to know.

My educated guess would be "57 channels and nothings on" by Bruce Springstein...

reminds me of "Everything Zen" by Bush,

my former girlfriend knew someone who misheard it as "No sex in Rhode Island" so you might have heard television

At least 6 months:P

Everything Zen - Found that one out about 4 months ago, not it.

Apparently, from my friend who introduced me to this missing lyric, he thinks that the phrase is at the end of a part which is kind of fast, and is more like talking than singing. But I don't know for sure.

But it sure sounds familiar, don't it???

Wild guess number 2 on my part:

since you say that it is at the end of the song, and usually disreguared, I say that the song is:

"Jeremy" by Pearl Jam

It might not be the very end of a song, it could be the end of a part leading up to a chorus or something. Well thanks though, I'll check that one out!
