Subject: Mystery Song....What is this called??

Written By: cindy3409821 on 11/07/02 at 06:25 p.m.

I heard this song a while ago and would love to know who sings it. It sounds like a classic rock song and it's sung by a guy. The only lines I could make out were something along the lines of this:

I'm standing at the crossroads
and I think I'm sinking again

or something like that....not too sure if those are the exact ones but it had something along those lines.

So, anyone know this one?

I think you were listening to Robert Johnson's "Crossroads".  Here is the lyric... the very last verse mentions "sinking"

I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the Lord above for mercy, Save me if you please.
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed me by.

I'm going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
I'm going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
You can still barrelhouse, baby, on the riverside.

You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
And I'm standing at the crossroads, believe I'm sinking down.

Robert Jonhson did the original, Cream covered it...I like Cream's better, but the original is cool too.......
