Subject: Kent Williams has the best Mishear Lyrics Story

Written By: The Skuz on 11/13/02 at 11:07 a.m.

I don't know about any of you, but I still think the best misheard lyrics story so far is Kent Williams' tale about "Rapture" by Blondie. Here it is(Censored of course):
-----------------------------------------------------------
Story about this misheard lyric by: Kent Willams
My mother refused to let me play this song because one of her friends told her these were the words. I knew these were not the words, but it was all just too funny, all of these 'ladies who lunch' whispering about finger f**king and bl*wj*bs and stuff, so I 'admitted' to her that yes, it was all true, and all my friends knew about it and laughed whenever they played the song on the radio. My Mom wrote an incensed letter to a local radio station about this outrage, and demanded that they stop playing this song. She received a very nice response back, with a copy of the actual lyrics from the album. I still tease her about it to this day. Like when she goes on a rant about something, I start humming the music...Good yuks!
------------------------------------------------------------

I agree. And I still think that's hilarious.
:D ;D :D

I have a similar "misheard" lyric story. When I was a teen, my mother and step-father thought it would be a good idea to listen to what I was listening to-just to make sure that I wasn't listening to anything "bad." They started (and finished) with my Queen "News of the World" album. The song was "All Dead, All Dead." My step-father said, "This isn't bad, 'All Day, All Day.'" I was in a dilema. Do I tell him the truth or let him think what he wanted? I was honest and told him the truth. The funny thing was, they never questioned anything I listen to after that. I have no idea why.

ive got a somewhat funny story...at least to me

A long time ago I was listening to CCR's greatest hits, and the song "Fortunate son" ccame on...my dad walked in, and he knows the song (hes not that old, lol) and he said "oh, I know this song," and he stated songing over the lines "It aint me, it aint me": "Canned heat, canned heat" I asked him was he had said, and my brother(Mike florio) was laughing hysterically.  He though the name of the song was Canned heat,....well, its funny to me

actully another funny thing is just yesterday I had to correct him on an artist..he thought "Crazy little thing called love" was by Loggins and Mussina
