Subject: A Band in the mid 70's to the very early 80's.

I'm trying to find a band who i think was named Charlie. I think they had a song out called Pressure Point. I really think they were on the radio in the late 70's. One or two of their songs made the radio in this time. i know I'm not imagining this although I was in my late teens. Any info anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

I had Charlie's album "Fight Dirty". It was pretty good. Very much along the lines of The Doobie Bros.  I remember it had a great song on it called "Runaway"...they had great harmonies too!

Thanx Tarzan now I have to find out how I can attain this album. Thank you very much I knew it was my imagination. My friends think I'm crazy. Now I'll show them this web site.

Charlie happens to rank in my personal top 5 of all time - can't believe someone else has started a thread about them here on these boards! :-) (Always thought they were a little too obscure for most to remember - TB, once again, I'm impressed! That German site is the only one I know of on the entire WWW devoted to them at this time; been visiting it myself for over a year now. And Jonman, I'm not too surprised you've heard of the band - go back and re-discover them!!! Agreed on the harmonies...)

I've been a huge fan of the band since the Summer of '83, when their hit "It's Inevitable" cracked the top 40 here in the U.S. - I was hooked from the first time I heard it! Needless to say, I now own all their albums (and many of them in multiple formats, too - vinyl LP, 8-track, cassette, & CD); they were around from 1976-86. If you've never heard the title track from their 1981 album, Good Morning America, you're missing out on one of the most rockin' tunes ever recorded! (Hint to Jonman...) :-)

"Pressure Point", while not a hit, was off their 1977 album, No Second Chance. That album was re-issued on CD here in the U.S. in the mid '90s as a double, paired w/ their 1978 album, Lines. Unfortunately, that 2-CD set is now out-of-print! :-(

If anyone wants to sample this great rock group, I highly recommend picking up their 18-track Best of... CD from 2000, which came out on the now-defunct Renaissance label (although it doesn't include "Pressure Point" or unfortunately, "Good Morning America" - but all the other hits & great tunes are on there!)... :-)
