Subject: A Mystery Song

Written By: redhead007 on 01/06/03 at 05:22 p.m.

I know that I don't have much to go on, but I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me. I heard this song on the radio almost an hour ago and I am dying to find out the name of the song and the artist. I came in in the middle of the song and it sounded really space-like and definitely had a 70s feel to it. A guy with a gruff sounding voice was singing with a choir of women behind him and I couldn't make out much of what he was singing except for something about vapor flying and looking up at the sky. It almost sounded like a Pink Floyd song or something like that, but I'm not too sure. I apologize again for not having much to go on,  :( but I'm sure that someone will know. Can anyone help me or take a wild guess?  :-/

Red, do you mean "I Want to Know What Love Is?" by the rock group Foreigner?

If so, the song came out in 1984, and the lead vocal was by singer Lou Gramm:

Chorus goes like this:

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

(All the while a gospel choir is singing background vocals as Lou croons the lead).

I haven't heard the whole track, but... could you be talking about the title track to Rush's "Vapor Trails"?
