Subject: What IS the correct word anyway?

On the CNN website there is a story about Mattel's court battle over the song "Barbie Girl". The article quotes the song as saying, "I'm a blonde bimbo in a fantasy world". They forgot to add the word "girl", but I know the word preceding it is not "bimbo". I've always heard the song as, "I'm a blonde FEMALE girl...". I checked several lyrics sites; some say "bimbo", some say "female", and some say "single". I KNOW it says "female"...Amiright?

Ha ha! This is a bad song though. I did it for a lip sync once. It was scarring for life, and I haven't listened to the song since. I should know what all the words were since I was Barbie. :'( (Blonde wig, pink clothes, trust me: it was scary!) But, sadly, I've been trying repress the memory. Now I must go back the therapy...

There actually is a parody of the song that goes like this. :D
"I'm in an ugly girl, my face makes you hurl...acne everywhere, unwanted facial hair..." :-P

Barbie isn't the only doll to seem enticing. I read last year in "USA Today" about a mother in Atlanta who'd given her 9-year old daughter an "Austin Powers" doll. After a week or so she noticed that the girl was running about saying things like "Do I make guys horny?". Strange, but when her parents asked the girl where she'd gotten the idea (and it wasn't from Britney!) she showed them, if she squeezed the doll it would come out with "Do I make you horny, do I!"
What next? Mum wrote Mattel an irate letter, saying that "they were abusing the language of her daughter" and soon a reply turned up, coupled with a 50 Dollar bill. "We're very sorry that you have got this doll, and we regret the mistake...This is a special model, and it should never have been on sale in large stores such as Toys-R-Us" :)

yeah, i've got the original and several rip-offs.
The Aquabats are credited with "Ugly Girl" which was mentioned above. I don't know who did the G.I. Joe version:
"I'm a G.I. Joe, a khaki covered ho."
There's no seedy ulterior meaning and it's not porno for kiddies.
The song is about 'artificial' women who go out with their nylon nail tips, hair weaves, breast implants, nose jobs and lots of hair goop and makeup because they're dying for attention from men. The men apparently enjoy them! :-*
anyway, why doesn't Mattel sue people for THIS then?
