Subject: DarkJon64 Anthology

Written By: DarkJon64 on 01/31/03 at 12:10 a.m.

Hey, I just hit 100 parodies today, and thought I would thank everyone who has voted on any of them. I went through them all and found the ones that I found to stand out for whatever reasons, and decided to put stories behing them!

A Whole New Chair (A Whole New World )

This one was written for a Wheelchair convention, and was recorded and sold on CDs. I still havent heard it though. It seemed to do well in the voting!

AmiRight (Last Resort)

I think this is my first web site tribute parody, and probably one of the first web site tribute parodies made. I liked this one, and it goes back quite far!

Bad Rabbit (Bad Habit)

One of the first Parodies I wrote, which started a parody message board at theoffspring.com, and has led to my dozens of other offspring songs, as well as hundreds of other people also writing offspring parodies. It may not be well known, but its one of the ones that got me to where I am today.

Best Dessert (Last Resort)

This one many people seemed to like. Many other people have also done the same parody after mine, probably without knowing it existed.

Big Mac Arriving (Bad Moon Rising)

I had to do a McDonalds parody, and what better band to do it for than Creedence Clearwater Revival. Not the first CCR/McDonalds parody, but I was proud of it.

Chocolate Ice Cream (Self Esteem)

One of my all-time favorites, to a well known Offspring classic. I think I did the pacing on this one very nicely, and the votes for it tend to agree!

Fire (Higher)

Kind of an overlooked parody of mine, but so far it's at 36 votes with a nice 4.6 all around rating, so I was surprised to see it doing well!

Frozen (Rollin')

This one did the best on the charts out of all my parodies. I'm not sure how long it was #1 for, but it seemed like quite a long time. Many people have commented that this was their favorite.

In 2D (In too deep)

I just loved how the pacing flowed on this one. This is usually one of the favorites along with "Frozen".

Move Store Rhapsody (Bohemian Rhapsody)

This one I thought was Okay, but nothing special. The votes however seem to disagree! I originally wrote a very similar parody at my friends house years ago, which I thought was amazing. This one didn't quite seem as good to me, but people seem to like it.

Parody Writer's Theme Song (Minority)

This one made the charts and was well appreciated back in it's day.

Saddam's Song (Adam's Song)

104 votes, the highest count of all my parodies. Many people commented on this one (not on the site). I thought it was funny when I wrote it.

The squirrel in the pot hole (Rock Show)

Just another Blink 182 parody with quite a few votes:)

Write Away (Parody writer theme song 2) (By The Way)

Another parody writers tribute, with lots of other author's names in it!

Who Put the Clunk? (Who Put the Bomp?)

I really liked the pacing of this one, and it wasn't a super-popular parody, but the people who read it loved it!

Anyway, that's sort of an overview of what I thought were the ones that stood out. Let me know what you think!

And chuck - could you please add commentary options to all the parodies of mine that don't have it already? Thanks!

Jon
