Subject: Chucky, I wanna call your attention to something.

Apparently someone forgot to set the decade for one of today's (Tuesday) paroides. The URL of this parody is http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/vanessacarlton0.shtml

This belongs in the 2000s, since the original song came out last year. The original performer, Vanessa Carlton was not alive in the 60'S because she wasn't born until '80. So is there a way you could possibly fix it? Because I think it would make things easeir if it were properly labeld.

If he changed the link to 2000's though, I think it would replace a Vanessa Carlton parody already on the site.

Oh well, it's nothing to worry about anyway... it happens all the time.  Everyone forgets to set the decade every once in a while.. I've done it before a few times.   :)

He's changed mislabeld ones before (remember last year when he started the 60s section, he changed some of the "misc" to 60S), but the URL doesn't change. He just changes the label at the top to read "2000s Song Parodies" or "90s Song Parodies" or whatever.

But I think it's wrong to mis-set the decaed (is "mis-set" a word? If not, I just made it up) because current songs seem to account for at least 50% of parody targets, and most of today's performers weren't around in the 60s. But I personally think it would make things much easeir if they were properly labeld, especially for reference purposes. Besides, who would think to look for a current song-parody amongst the Beatles and all those people who were around B4 my time?

Maybe what he should do is make 2000s the default decade on the submission form. :-/

I, too, am sick of the anachronisms!  >:( (For those of you who don't know what anachronism is, it's when something is placed outside its proper or historical order. Iow, in a time period where it could not possibly go.)

I saw that two of today's (Wednesday) entries were mislabeled:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/d120.shtml (should be 2000s; I'm pretty sure none of the band members were born untill at least the 70's)
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/avrillavigne6.shtml (should also be 2000s; I know for an absolute fact that Avril was born in the mid-80's)
