Subject: Lisa Marie's "Lights Out"

Written By: Mindy on 06/08/03 at 07:09 p.m.

Let me straighten out the meaning of the lyrics for Lisa Marie Presley's song 'Lights Out' for Jodie, and for the editor of her message, Lebeiw15.

L.A. is 2 hours ahead, and Memphis is 2 hours behind, thus explaining the concept that the song is being written in L.A., and that she's recalling her family history in Memphis, TN. You need to listen and decipher Lisa's message in the song (she's using a metaphore). Also, if you know anything about where she came from and who her father was, you'll then understand that this song is extreme in it's depth, and as haunting as a song can get.

Nonsensical Song Lyrics

Lisa Marie Presley's, "Lights Out"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
I still keep my watch 2 hours behind
Why They're Nonsensical:
If Lisa is and has been a resident of L.A., and the song is reminiscing on her Memphis roots, shouldn't the lyrics be 'I still keep my watch 2 hours ahead', since California is in the Pacific time zone and Tennessee is Central?

I'm sorry, there is nothing that can be done about it now.  I just process the submitted lyrics; I do not have the authority to remove or edit the content already on the pages.  That's for the site owner to handle.  Sorry.

Okay.  Since you mentioned the editor I thought you wanted it changed or something.  Sorry!  :)
