female singer, might be female band like en vouge. which is who i thought it was that sang it...anyway 80's early 90's pop/rock

i know its on a party mix cd but cant rember what one to look it up.

Your "mystery song" is "Queen of the Night" by Whitney Houston. Although not released as a commercial single, it was a moderate hit here in the U.S. in the Winter of '94. It was off the soundtrack to the 1992 film, The Bodyguard. Fortunately, the soundtrack is still in print today on CD here in the U.S...
