Subject: 2, One impossible and 1 easy (I Hope)

Written By: clok1966 on 09/10/03 at 06:17 p.m.

Ok since you people seem to get almost every song I have 2.

Here is the Impossible one, its from roughly 78-82 (sorry so broad) possibley only a mild hit in Canada (maybe not even a Hit) I heard it several times on a canadian station. Your clues are (very sad and very little):

the Singer is female and sounded alot like the lead singer of MISSING PERSONS. The song had the Word "Automobile" in the chorus and if i remeber right that is what the song is about, only other clue is there was a CAR HORN in the chorus (I think).

Now the easy one (I hope). the Movie "Vice Versa" with Fred Savage and Judge Reinhold. Thye go to a concert and there is a song that goes something like "theres good rocking at Midnight"  Now I have heard the Group in the movie was MALICE, but I dont know the song, and if its buy them.
Oh should have added this frist time, the bad looks a Little Like GWAR (if Im remebering this right at all) and is sorta METAL (Hard Rock maybe, but the song is Lite Metal at best).

thanks

Clok

I'm going to have to pass on the impossible...

The 2nd is not so easy as I cannot find any info about the contents of the Vice-Versa OST.  Going by clues alone, I wonder if "There's good rockin' at midnight" is "Rockin' at Midnight" by the Honeydrippers (f/Robt. Plant). . ?

this might sound dumb, but was the impossible one entirely in german?

its entirely possible it was sung in german. Got a name for me to try track down?

As for the Honeydrippers, nope, this was more , hmmm Not heavy metal, but Hard rock sounding (Stones, the WHO, style). Thje reason its souch a tough one for me : the bad playhing the song looked like a 80's metal band (Im almost sure it was GWAR), but if you know GWAR, this song is nothing like they sing...

thnaks again

i heard it during my german class...it was a song about a car, and there were some honking horns and engine noises throughout the song.  i think it was called "Mein Auto ist kaput."  all i remember is:

"Kaput, kaput, mein Auto ist kaput!"

and something about the night being "sehr romantisch" and a lot of things were described as "super" and "super-duper."

this probably isn't the right song, but i hope i helped.. :)

Hi,
There was a song that was played here in Canada called "Automobile".  It featured a girl singing and at times she sounded kind of excited.  I don't remember hearing horns honking in it.
However, the name of the band was "Hansie".
Hope this helps

I would bet that is it, going to hunt and see if I can find it.

Hmm the Impossible one was easy, now for the easy one...  :)
