Subject: Please help - name of sax instrumental

Written By: pmc80 on 10/01/03 at 07:15 a.m.

There's a song I've been looking for, it's a sax instrumental, it's often played on the radio. At first I thought it could be by Vangelis but doesn't seem to be. Very 80's America, upbeat and brash, conjures up memories of convertible porsches cruising the beach at sunset. That's all I can think of how to describe it!

The only popular artist I can think of who is known for instrumentals with a saxophone lead is Kenny G, who plays a soprano sax.  Because we have no lyrics to work with as clues to the title of the mystery tune, try this:

Look up MIDI files of Kenny G tunes, using a search engine called MIDI Explorer, at

http://www.musicrobot.com

Select the option for searching by "Artist Name" rather than the default of searching by song name, and enter "Kenny G".  When the search results come up, click on some the web sites found and see if one of the MIDI files matches what you were searching for.
