Billy:
I have a collection of about 1,500 MIDI files for most of the songs that I and my guest parody writers have parodied.  I'm pretty selective about which ones I used, so I think you'll like most of the MIDI renditions for the ones I have collected.  The catch is, I don't have a direct index for the MIDI's; you'll have to visit my web site and click on the upper left corner musical icon of my parody pages to download the MIDI.

You can either check the site link at the bottom of all of the parodies posted at Amiright, or you can use my alphabetical index at my web site, here:

http://bootnewt.tripod.com/MIDI-lst.htmOR
http://bootnewt.envy.nu/MIDI-lst.htm

The guest-written political parodies are not alphabetized, but they are linked on this URL:

http://bootnewt.tripod.com/guestsongs.htmOR
http://bootnewt.envy.nu/guestsongs.htm

You can also try my site search engine to find the MIDI you want, which is linked to the above pages.

To find MIDIs that I don't have, I think it's best to use the MIDI Explorer search engine, which was specifically designed to scour thousands of web sites for MIDI files.  The catch is, you may have to audition a lot of them to find what you like.  But it works pretty well:

I thought you had to do the music yourself as well, because the artist/record companies own the rights to both the lyrics AND the instrumental music.

Might want to research that, and I would appreciate it if you'd post about what you find, I'm curious too and I don't want to get into trouble when we start recording some stuff.

You wouldn't have a problem if you used MIDIs anyway, because they are "someone's interpretation" of the original music... They are almost never exactly right, so, theoretically, since they are diffent, they aren't the same as the copyrighted entities...
