Subject: Looking for song titel and lyrics...

Written By: mmhansen on 11/11/03 at 02:48 p.m.

It's a song from around '70. Give and take a few years.
And it's someone saying/singing a lot of names of other singers.
Does anyone know the titel and the artist?

thanks

This could be a number of songs...since its around 1970, Ill take a guess and say "American pie" by Don Mclean....if this was later (like late 80s) Id say maybe "we didnt start the fire" by Billy Joel or "Its the end of the world as we know it" by REM....or actlly, in the 70s I got more: "Give peace a chance" by John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band....um....Ill try and think of some more

Actually, I HATE that tune, (although I like J.M.), it just happened to fit the description of what mmhansen was looking for. :)

It could be Hands Across The Water by Paul McCartney.

"Sister Susie (trumpet) Brother John (trumpet) Martin Luther (trumpet) Phil and Don (trumpet) Uncle Ernie (trumpet) Uncle Ian (trumpet) Open the door and let 'em in......yeah"

How about that?

My bad - you're right. But I think it's Halsey, not Hassey. ;)

How about Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire"?

Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, Television
North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe

Rosenbergs, H-Bomb, Sugar Ray, Panmunjom,
Brando, The King and I, and the Catcher In the Rye
Eisenhower, vaccine, England's got a new queen, Marciano, Liberace, Satayana goodbye

...(chorus)....

U2, Syngman Rhee, payola and Kennedy, Chubby Checker, Psycho, Belgians in the Congo, Hemingway, Eichman, Stranger in a Strange Land, Dylan, Berlin, Bay of Pigs invasion

Lawrence of Arabia, British Beatlemania, Ole Miss, John Glenn, Liston beats Patterson
Pope Paul, Malcolm X, British Politician Sex, JFK, blown away, what else do I have to say?...."

Maybe that?
