the song was originally about pot, but they had to change it when it was released in America....I think it means a bowl now

"Pass the Dutchie" was done by a band called Musical Youth.  It was actually nominated for a grammy, but like everybody else, lost to thriller.  It was also remade by a band called Buck-0-9

It's a terrible song.  I think it only appealed to people under 12.  :P
