Subject: "Every Time You Go Away".

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Although you got the lyrics to the chorus correct, the actual performer's name of this 1985 hit was Paul YOUNG, not Paul HARDCASTLE. Darryl HALL (of HALL & OATES) was the composer of this song, and he was quite miffed when Paul YOUNG publicly stated that he had "improved on it" (so much for gratitude). Around the same time, however, Paul HARDCASTLE did come out with a tune of his own, "19", about the average age of soldiers drafted into the American-Vietnamese War. Pushing 40 myself, I can see how it would be easy to make a mistake such as this, because although the Eighties really don't seem like that long ago and far away, some of the details of those days have become somewhat fuzzy over time. Keep on rocking! Cheers!

Sincerely,

Glen A. RITCHIE
