Subject: 420 Day

Written By: James E. F. Landau on 4/17/2001 at 6:42 p.m.

I haven't been to this site in ages!

April 20 (4/20) is coming up soon . . . that's Hitler's birthday, as well as the second anniversary of the Columbine shooting. (It turns out, though, that the most probable reason for setting the date of the shooting at 4-20 was not because of Hitler's birthday, but because KMFDM were putting out their swan-song CD on that day in 1999.) If anyone has any Columbine-related song parodies to celebrate this anniversary, by all means submit them! Or if you have a parody of any topic on a song by KMFDM, I guess that would work too.

"420", however, is also a code for the herb of dreams. Many suggested in fact that Eric and Dylan chose the date of 4-20 because the number had such an important pop culture meaning. So we're also looking for marijuana-related song parodies (along the lines of "Hey, Marijuana!") for April twentieth. Bring them on, dudes!

And thanks to all the people who put "Outcast" into the Top 50!
