Subject: I need help with this song

I know neither the name of this song nor the artist. All I know are the first few lines and it has bugged me for years as to what it is. I heard it on the network TV broadcast of "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" in a scene that is not on the video or DVD and the song is not in the credits. If anyone knows the name of this song and/or the artist, please let me know what it is. The song starts out:
"I just got up from no sleep at all
I stared at the pictures I talked to the wall
The man who insisted he had to be free
just found out that lonely ain't no place to be."
I repeat: If anyone knows the name of this song and/or the artist, please let me know what it is.

hi rainking, i was just wonderin if u found out the name or the artist of that song u were lookin for. and if so could u pls reply back 2 me with the name of the song or the artist. i have searchin up and down for that song and it has gotten me no where. thanx
