Subject: MC 900 Foot Jesus (MC900, MC 900" Jesus) - Straight To Heaven Lyrics (1991)

Written By: Foo Bar on 01/30/05 at 4:38 pm

And for the record -- here's my submission for "impossible lyrics".  90% of the work was done by someone else, but the made a few mistakes.  I think this covers the gaps.

MC 900" Jesus: (MC900 Foot Jesus) - I'm going straight to Heaven - 1991

Everybody's dying for the chance to see
How being in my thoughts you can all be me
But the critical question seems to be
Do I run the world or does it run me?
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
I'm going straight to heaven.

Top floor, please, elevator man
Get me upstairs as fast as you can
Got a dinner appointment at a dead end suite
For a one way ticket up to Easy Street
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
I'm going straight to heaven.

Somebody is listening in on all my dreams
Quoting my thoughts on an evening screen
Keeping me healthy and safe and clean
Getting me ready for a change of scene
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
I'm going straight to heaven.

The world is spinning on a whole lot of pot (???)
And the tourist chumps adored the high  (?)
On a ten mile high, I'm obscene
I'm a man with the hope; a (the?) man with the key.
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
I'm going straight to heaven.

I'm tired of the face of reality
Just give me a glimpse of what will be
Salvation's easy as one, two, three
But nothing is true until it's proven to me
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
Everybody shut up and leave me alone
I'm going straight to heaven.

Subject: Collaborative Challenge: Lyrics for MC 900 Foot Jesus, "Born With Monkey Asses"

Written By: Foo Bar on 06/16/08 at 11:01 pm

Hey, look at my old post!  If you've got a beef with my Straight to Heaven lyrics, post it.  You're probably right.

Mark Griffin, aka MC 900 Foot Jesus, is still actively spinning wax, albeit in a more laid-back jazzy style.  But back in 1989, he released an EP called Born with Monkey Asses.  The track also appears on the album Hell with the Lid Off.

Born with Monkey Asses features vocal samples from "a paranoid schizophrenic patient discussing his theories on what the doctors in the psychiatric facility were doing to the research animals at night".

Some of the samples are almost indecipherable.  The best lyrics currently on the 'net are here, and I think we can do a little better than that.  Because baboons have their own female species.

That's right.  I've given you one line for free:

"Because baboons have their own female species."

Then the song gets weird.
