Written By: keeperofthemusic on 09/03/05 at 7:12 am

I have had this line from a song rolling around inside my head since around 1967 or 68. What I can recall is this "All the people had no faces. All the streets the had no names. All the houses had no numbers and the children had no games. That is all I recall, any help would be appreciated

The song is "What A Strange Town" by a group named Street. You can find the lp on ebay if you search for Street Verve because the record is on the Verve Forecast label.

The song was also released on a 45 by Jimmie Rodgers as "What A Strange Town (The People Had No Faces)."

i think this song was originally recorded by the nyc psych band Blues Magoos on a Verve 7''-
Blues Magoos - People Had No Faces b/w So I'm Wrong And You Are Right,
you can find it as one of the additional tracks in their "electric comic book" reissue,
hope that will help you.
