Subject: Need Help With Lyrics

Written By: Red Ant on 11/28/05 at 8:10 pm

Hey guys and girls, I have several partial lyrics (that may be a bit off) that I need to place to a song/performer:

Who's the one that treats you right
Leave it (them?) there and don't come back to fight (tonight?)

Who's been draggin' round my door
I shot it now, it don't come back no more*

*This line I remember even appeared inside the CD cover on the insert as the only lyric listed

The chorus line I think is either 'my love is wasted' or 'my life is wasted', I'm gonna find someway

The singer is male and the song is late 90s, probably 1997. There are also a few background/overdubbed vocals in the song IIRC. The genre is what I would call rock or perhaps 3rd generation alternative. It's not a "dark" song and the intro sounds like some sort of slide instrument is used. I'm fairly sure this band is American too.

Any help?

The song was from 1997.  It's called The Oaf (My Luck is Wasted) by Big Wreck

They are an American band, but lead singer Ian Thornley is from Canada  :)
